The sky seemed just a little bit more blue. And I wasn't the only person who noticed: There was a current of heightened awareness and expectation - almost giddiness - running through my class today. My service recipient, who has been having a week of sullen, teenager-ish behavior, was positively bursting with joy and laughter today.

The source of untold amounts of hatefulness and intolerance, who brought so much anguish and rage to so many people, is gone.
And as a result, the world is just a little bit brighter.
