pretties

I won an auction for the Miz Mooz Marissa boot (in black)
for less than half of retail, and they arrived last week. They're pretty! But
the problem is that they're too big if I don't wear my custom insert,
and are too tight if I do wear it. It's the seam across the instep
that's doing me in, my insert has a metatarsal pad that pushes my foot
up. So, I looked at ebay to see if there was a cheap leather
stretcher like they have at the Fluevog store, and I found one. An
antique, cast iron, for $210 + $18 shipping. Um, no. The boots are
slathered with mink oil and I'm wearing them while sitting down at
home to see if I can stretch them the old fashioned way. Hmm, though I
did just find an article about a wooden boot stretcher that works on
the foot area rather than the calf (the Marissa is nice and roomy in
the calf on me), might be worth trying to find one of those.

I also just got my order from Blue Anchor Jewelry.
I'd bookmarked the site a while back when I found some
necklaces that I really liked, and browsed back during a sale so I
snapped things up. Planetary Orgasm
is ear marked for an event where I want to wear blue, the
Lucite cabochon is gorgeous, I'm almost sad that it's a choker and I
won't get to see it all the time I'm wearing it.
The alchemyst's secret
is also gorgeous in person, the glass stone is
subtly faceted, and the hanging faceted glass and opalite beads feel
lovely. I also got the matching earrings, and will figure out how best
to repierce my ears soon. :) And I rounded out the order with a cuff
set with a gorgeous green Aventurine stone. The cuff is
actually small enough to fit well on my wrist, though it moves around
just enough that I'll want to wear it over a long sleeved
shirt, or pad it a bit on the inside top curve.
