The bit that surprised me the most about Paladin of Souls was the choice of protagonist. In the Curse of Chalion, she was a bit character, and sort of nutters.
I always look forward to your Reviews posts :)sanguineempathyJuly 31 2009, 20:11:42 UTC
I'm just starting in on Laurell K. Hamilton - I was dubious about reading series based on a Vampire Executioner... but I can see now she's much more than that and I'm quite enjoying the series. Going to E-Book download a few for my Cruise next week. :)
Honestly, I'd just written down title and author in the post that I keep composing over the course of the month, and when I went to hit send I realised I hadn't filled in a review. I didn't even remember which day I'd finished it, I've been so busy with other things this month.
Chisel and I just finished "Children of Earth." I thought that there were some serious holes in it which made it hard for me to like it. Completely chilling and dark, though. I was rooting for Frobisher's assistant to requisition a gun and shoot the PM in the face.
BTW, the woman who plays the spec ops leader is also in "Dead Set," a zombie movie from BBC. If you can't find it, let me know; I have it on DVD. That actress is very good in it; similarly tough and competent.
The PM was a bad, bad man. I was able to ignore the plot holes and concentrate on the human interplay, but I tend to be pretty forgiving with SciFi shows. :) I'll add "Dead Set" to my to-watch list, thanks!
