resolutions update
Link to 2008 new year's resolutions.
August:
There was a mix up with my library request, and August's book, Interpreter of Maladies didn't get to me until near the end of the month, so that pushed things back a bit.
Pictures: I took quite a few while hiking in Franconia Notch.
I watched Transamerica and liked it.
September:
I squeezed September's movie, A Beautiful Mind, in on the 30th. This was hard to watch, at first due to Nash's initial social awkwardness and then because I was having a hard time knowing what was "real" and what was delusion. At first I was wondering why Jennifer Connelly got the best supporting actress award for this movie, but she really comes into her own as Russel Crowe's character degenerates. It's a heart wrenching movie, and gives a viscereal example of what living with schizophrenia may be like.
I read The Hours, pushed back into October due to vacation.
I took a boatload of pictures, favourites added to the year's gallery.
And, of course, I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. :) Travel diary in progress, it's going to take a while to decipher my writing.
