Masterpost | Soundtrack (my artist has the covers for it here if you didn't see them)

Wow... it’s all up and posted. I hope it doesn’t sound too dramatic to say, but that story is pretty much all the words in my heart stark against the white of whoever reads this’ computer screen. Wow.

When I first started this I had just one objective in my mind: I want to write a story set in the country. I worked with that for six thousand words, before I decided that perhaps some more specific information might help also. I’ll spare you a long-winded recount of a few bad decisions, but I mostly abandoned this story for about six weeks or so, before it was back in my head, ready to be written and annoyed that I’d left it behind. It’s ideas are spread across a few notebooks that have been to three countries with me. It was always there, and it feels... odd to be without it.

Jensen’s story in this is a dark one, and one that I hope was answered sufficiently enough with the small amount of explanation that was given. I figured since Jensen doesn’t really recall the reasons he was with Chad and Chris and Tom and Michael and everyone else clearly or concisely, then I won’t subject you to his screwed-up reasoning. I have so much to say about Jensen’s character, but I’ll limit it to this: if you download the soundtrack you’ll find that the last song is Modern Chemistry by Motion City Soundtrack. I think this represents Jensen best at the end, and while this may be considered a win in conventional terms, I can’t help but feel sad for him. I think Bob Dylan summed Jensen up much better than I could; “all I can do is be me, whoever that is.”

Anyway, I won’t go on much longer about this thing. If you have any questions about my story, feel free to ask them here and thanks for reading. Thank you.

Onwards;

Firstly, jade_1459. You were my cheerleader, reader, reviewer and good friend while I ranted and raved about this thing. You made those gorgeous journal entries for me and improved the ones I had written ♥ and they are exactly how I imagined Jensen’s words written. It was the main thing that made the experience for me. Just seeing those words like they were real was the most awesome feeling in the world. Thank you. You were a constant stream of support, kind words, tolerance, and conversation. I know this story wouldn’t have been finished with you, and I’m certain that it was your little reminders about it that kept my subconscious going. Thank you for believing that I could do this, and thank you for believing in my Jensen. You are wonderful and gorgeous and I hope to whatever deity is out there that you are with me next year when I am certain to succumb to the insanity that my Jensen refused to believe in to do this again next year. ;_;

Secondly, tygers. I found you - well, you found me - over at the Supernatural betaing community and I can safely say that it was one of the best things about this whole experience. Thank you for giving me your time, giving my story a chance and making it so much better than it originally was. For telling me about true dreamcatcher lore, for getting rid of my commas, present tense nonsense, and my myriad of other mistakes and strange happenings. You put so much time into this and for that I thank you so much. Without you, this story would be a shadow of what it is now. I’m always checking my inbox for your e-mails now! Thank you for your kind words, endless knowledge and constructive criticism. If I could hug halfway across the world, I would.

Thirdly, Jaz (occasionally wearepeople). Thanks for letting me whinge about this while we walked home in the afternoons, on MSN, and when we stayed up late together. Thank you for teasing me about my story’s title (it’s not Sealife, hee!) and for being generally awesome. Thank you for letting me force you into the wonderful world of slash! And I’m sorry the ending wasn’t what you wanted.

Lastly, lovelyhera. Thank you for spending time reading my story and making art for it! It really brings a smile to my face! Thank you for working with me. ♥

Thank you to anyone and everyone that read this, whether it be a few words, or the whole thing. I hope you enjoyed what you read and maybe you’ll read some of my other work in future, or I’ll read some of yours. Either way, I hope my fic was a good read. If not, feel free to let me know, I like constructive criticism.

Anyway, this is probably way too long.

Just. Everyone, thanks. For sticking around, for not sticking around. Thank you.
