Tired of my ranting yet?

It just doesn't have anywhere else to go but here.

Opened the store, the guy who makes guitar pedals came in to have me print some stuff. While I'm doing that, laser salesguy walks in to pick up package and also send out a package. These two are cool, I see laser salesguy every day. He has a mailbox with us. Guitar pedal guy comes in every other week to print decals for his product. So I know both of them pretty well.

While I'm processing laser salesguy's package and printing out stuff for guitar pedal guy, a woman, we'll call her fashion impaired lady for lack of a better description, walks in. I do the whole "Hi, I'll be with you as soon as I can" thing. She nods and starts looking at the Quick Study guides.

Finish up with guitar pedal guy. He pays with credit.

Laser salesguy gets his package. Pays for the outgoing one with credit.

Fashion impaired lady sends a fax. Pays with debit.

I ask her for ID. She says "You didn't ask the other two guys for ID."

"They come in all the time." I reply. "I know them pretty well."

She responds with a sarcastic "Uh, huh. I'm sure that's the reason."

I'll give you one guess as to why she said that.

What I wanted to say to her was "Yes, I'm totally carding you because I hate people with colored skin."

Oh wait I forgot, a hundred years ago people would be calling me yellow, and not as a reference to my personality or lack thereof.

Ever consider the reason why "black" people get no respect might be because y'all are demanding it instead of, oh I don't know, earning it?

Seriously, if you think Asian people were never discriminated against in the US, please go find out who did all the grunt work on the western half of the American railroads, how they were treated and what their lives were like. Like specifically, the history of Chinatown in San Francisco. oh, and that wonderful law that prevented them from becoming US citizens. Let's not forget that one.

Honestly, I have nothing against African-Americans on a general basis. I like to think I'm color blind when it comes to that kind of thing. But I'm sorry, if you spend all your time looking for people discriminating against you, then of course that's the only way you're going to think you're being treated.

ranting, work
