Today marks Day 1 of my Dad's six month tour of duty in Kabul, Afghanistan. My mom took it hard and if she hadn't fallen asleep on the way home from Ontario Airport she might have cried the whole way.
Rewind - to 9pm Tuesday Night -
Some of you may have realized that yesterday marked the release of Windows 7 RC1 (Release Candidate 1) and its available for free to anyone to try out at their own risk. It is basically a Beta test but with something that Microsoft could release to the public if someone forced them too, but ideally they'd like to work on it for nearly another year. Anyway, I downloaded it and after much annoyances with trying to get it working with my Macbook Pro it is now installed. I really forgot how much of a bitch it is to find the right drivers for stuff since the last time I did that was for Vera's laptop's XP.
So I downloaded Windows 7 and began installation around 10 - my fault for being lazy. Just got it working this morning at 8:30ish. 8:30ish also marks one of few days I've ever been awake for a full 24 Hours. Its possible, go Jack Bauer! And then I fell asleep with Peewee on my bed.
Patty wants W7RC1 on her laptop so I might get to work on that after a power nap again.
Also had Denny's with Patty, Mark and Dean, then right after that pretty much went to March Air Force Base, then followed my Dad to Ontario (He rode in the military bus), then had an emotional goodbye then drove back to Temecula, fought sleep on the drive and then worked on Windows 7 - satisfied with it being in good working order for now I went to sleep and now here I am.
This post is really convoluted - good luck with it.
