Name: Cassandra Wayne (formally Cassandra Cain)
Series: DC Comics (Batman) (AU)
Canon-Point: About three to four months after being adopted by Batman.
History:
http://batman.wikia.com/wiki/Blackbat_(Cassandra_Cain) Everything above up until “52: World War III”, but then resuming with the section “Vengence and Batman R.I.P” with the exception of all terminology referencing Deathstroke. It is assumed that between this time, Cassandra wandered somewhat aimlessly, helping and making use of her abilities as she could. She would slowly re-discover her calling and purpose, as well as her family and return home.
After being adopted by Bruce Wayne, Cassandra fulfilled her role at Batgirl, assisting the Bat Family and other superheroes; though primarily staying within Gotham and Bludhaven. Most if not all character history is unchanged prior to being adopted by Bruce Wayne. However in this alternate future there were no other significant stories or comic events as to which significantly impact the Bat Family or the status-quo. That status-quo being simply standard low-level crooks and minor supervillains attacking, and heroes stopping them with minimal sacrifice.
Personality: Cassandra is a fairly quiet person. The most obvious reason for this is the fact that she has spent most of her life not knowing any written or spoken language. Instead, she has grown up with a deep understanding and connection to body language. This defines much of her personality, as she does not fully grasp complex word play, and can still be oblivious to certain verbal subtleties despite now having a relatively full grasp of the English language thanks to telepathic re-wiring. She is very curious and dedicated to learn about that which becomes interesting to her, which can manifest as having somewhat of a single tract mind at times. She was briefly trained in Detective work by Tim Drake (Robin) and is able to use those techniques to supplement and help fulfil her curious urges.
Through her own childhood trauma and through training under Batman and Oracle, Cassandra has become very strongly against killing and death, despite being trained as an assassin. This gives her a very strong code of ethics and she has a hard time dealing with things that go against them; especially if she is forced to go against them herself. When she does make a mistake, she often takes it very hard and either breaks down for a time, or attempts to do everything to make things right. Through her friendships with Barbara Gordon and Stephanie Brown (Spoiler), her ability to make human connections has expanded, and with their help she can now pull off normal conversations; though she still rarely if ever speaks unnecessarily.
Powers: Cassandra has very high martial arts training and physical abilities. She has the ability to read body language and predict others movements. She has been trained by members of the Bat-Family and has certain other related skills such as a basic understanding of detective work; and how to perch on structures and look intimidating.
Since much of her skills are the result of various kinds of training, I believe the easiest skill to limit would be her body-language reading ability. In a battle scenario, I think that she would only be able to read the movements of fighting type, or human-shape Pokemon using physical movements or attacks. And even then, this ability would only really become an advantage when the bond between her and her Pokemon becomes high enough for them to trust her and react to her instincts and instructions; so hopefully it’s okay to include and implement in this capacity.
If her physical abilities (aim, jumping strength, combat prowess) need to be downgraded just let me know, so long as she can still keep enough of her abilities to keep thematics going I'll be more than happy.
Starter Pokemon: Sableye
Writing Samples
First-Person Sample:
I look out from these familiar seeming rooftops and am surprised; even at night this city remains so filled with positive energy. I hear even night in Metropolis is somewhat tense. But here, the people walk without fear. Even in the shadows, only minor, natural apprehension, no real fear of danger...
She would have liked this place.
Third-Person Sample:
Cassandra walks down a dirt road toward what seems to be a town or city in the distance. The shape and size of the buildings seem as familiar as this world seemed foreign. With a steady pace and a clear path, her thoughts turn to the small creature contained in the sphere on the belt she kept in the backpack she had been given. It was such a curious creature, and so frail; she wonders if it could really participate in the combat that seemed to be so commonplace in this world.
Looking up every so often at those who walked past her moving away from the city, she noticed expressions of kindness, and almost confusion and light sadness and contempt as they slowed, and she kept walking. Though she wonders if they wished to participate in those strange battles, she knew she must keep walking. There was information to gather, and the city coming into view would be the best place to start investigating. She would of course wait until night fell. She was tired, but sleep could surely wait until the early morning.
