In Toyama
Well Im finally here in Toyama. Acutally Ive been here since Monday, I just havent had the time/internet to update.
Things are pretty good here, actually. I was met at the station by my trainer, who took me to the office where I met everyone I was going to be working with. All really nice people. Then we took care of the alien registartion and a bank account. I need to go pick up my bank card, actually. Anyway, after that it was too my apartment. Its actually pretty nice. Not huge of course, but more than enough room, and a loft to sleep in so I dont have to worry about a bed taking up a bunch of space. My table can collapse to give even more room. As soon as I have the net in my apartment, I think itll be perfect. Still waiting to get a cell phone. I think theyll take me whenever I get my alien card, they might take the application as good enough to get a phone, but maybe not.
Anyway, my first couple of days at work were observation and teaching just a couple of classes. I had Thursday off because of the equinox, and Friday and Saturday I had full loads. Yeah, as Krystin can tell you, Saturdays suck. I had a crap load of classes, but I managed to get prepared for all of them. Normally I should have had yesterday and today off, but since the school is new we had an open day to try and get walk ins/have more lessons. Well I ended up preparing for my lessons on Tuesday, since my one student of the day didnt show up. Oh well. NBD. So now Im going to go explore my town a little, pick up a package at the post office, and hopefully get my ATM card. All in Japanese...wish me luck!
