To celebrate the tax-free weekend, I went shopping for some clothes, which I haven't done in couple of years. Some of my shorts were beginning to rip. Shopping for clothes always makes me a bit uncomfortable. Because I have to shop in the Boys' Section.
"Sometimes the clothes at GAP Kids are just too flashy so I'm forced to go to the American Girl Store and order clothes for large, colonial dolls."
-Angela, The Office
And because I don't ever shop for clothes, I can't ever seem to remember what size clothing I wear. For shorts, it doesn't matter because I could try them out in the fitting room. But for underwear, what do you do? I'm pretty sure you are not allowed to rip open the bag holding the underwear and try them on. At least I hope not. Just thinking about it is making me a bit queasy. See, this is the reason why I can never buy clothes online. You would never know where they've been.
Shopping is stressful.
On another note, do you call the enclosed space you try out the clothes "dressing room" or "fitting room?" When I was asking the Fitting Room Guard whether one of the rooms were available, I found myself starting to say "dressing room" but then in mid-word switched it to "fitting room" because it felt more masculine. He gave me a look.
