problems with a water heater
So my motorhome came with a leaking water heater. I attempted to patch the tank with marine tex just for the heck of it, but it wasn't even fully pressurized before the seal popped. So I figured I'd better just go ahead and order a new one.
Nobody seemed to have just the tank, so I put in an order for a reasonably priced (four fifty instead of over six hundo) unit from a place called Ducktec. Said it would ship same day. Three weeks later it still hadn't shown up, so I checked my credit card records online and saw it hadn't been charged. Contacted ducktec and they informed me they didn't have the item in stock, and wouldn't have it for six months. Said they thought I had been emailed about it (I hadn't).
As of this writing, the item is still listed as 'ships within 24 hours.'
So reluctantly I found yet another rv supplier I'd never heard of and placed an order with them. Considered calling first to verify stock, but figured I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. Within minutes I'd gotten an emailed order confirmation, and forty minutes later my card had been charged (used google checkout.) Eight hours later I got an email saying it had been shipped.
Now that's service, and assuming there aren't any screw ups on getting the wrong heater or etc I'll definitely be using the american rv company again.
