[The phone clicks on, and when Riku speaks, he sounds almost uncharacteristically confused.]

Does anyone else feel... noticeably different this morning? I can't put my finger on it, but something is definitely--

[There's a pause, followed by a muttered "How in the..." followed by a sort of metallic sound and the accompanying sounds of fighting.

[Sooomeone's staying in his room, then. He's also kinda bitter about you playing knight in shining armor to Naminé the other day, but shh.]

[Give him a minute to get back to his phone.]

Nothing you haven't seen before. Just shadows.

[Well now, that piques his interest.]

Shadows? Here? Tch... figures they'd show up. [A pause. Wait a second...] How are you fighting them?

How does one usually fight heartless?

[A keyblade, silly replica.]

[antireaction]

Huh?

[fff shush. He hasn't tried to summon his weapon yet. But now that he's said that? ... Well. Souleater's weight is falling into his hand and a smirk is spreading across his face.]

Well.. whaddya know. ['Scuse him has he strikes a pose, pointing epically down at the phone... even though you can't see him.] You and me. We're having that fight. Don't chicken out.

[There's a long pause, but it's more out of disbelief than intimidation.]

...I told you. I'm not fighting you. There's more important things to take care of.

[antireaction]

[And so kicks in the Replica's selective hearing. Everything Riku's just said? It's going in one ear and riiight out the other. Actually, it probably didn't even make it in.]

Scared I'll win? [Scoffs] You just know I'm stronger than you, huh?

Are you even listening to me, or are you just dense? You're the least of my problems right now, so go do something useful, like help keep these heartless from eating anyone.

[He can fare alright on his own, but protecting everyone is a little harder.]

I'm listening. To you being a coward.

[But, hey. To prove that he's not dense, he'll actually sigh, and the sound of scraping as he swings Souleater around sounds from over the feed.]

Fine, on one condition. I help get rid of the heartless, and you and I get to fight.

[Silly boy really does think he can win]

[Ughhh-- As much as he doesn't want to fight, he'll take his chances if he can get some extra help around here.]

...Fine. But you'd better pull your weight, or the deal's off.

[antireaction]

[Oh c'mon, you know your Replica. He won't leave Riku alone until he gets that showdown. Hopefully he'll avoid dying this time around, though.]

Tch, I'm not the one who needs to pull their weight.

[And, just a few minutes later, he's followed the sounds of fighting to spot Riku... and the Heartless. Pfff, just shadows? This'll be a piece of cake, magic or no magic. So, with a yell, he's practically diving into the Heartless, swiping left and right with Souleater... not really bothering to be careful. Riku can look out for himself, right? Right.]

[Nice comeback there, blondie Repliku. When you announce your presence on the battlefield like that, Expect to be noticed. Riku's doing his best to keep an eye on the heartless and the replica, so as to avoid any cheap shots by either party. Those weak little shadows are multiplying quickly though, so don't let them swarm you!]

[Ohhh but that's the whole point! That way he can show off his skills, the way he's just whirling around, slicing into Shadows left and right, dodging, ducking and-- alkgja;lkdf. Stabbing and bashing at one trying to crawl its way up his chest. But regardless of how much he's being swarmed, he'll keep on fighting, even working with Riku if he has to, if it means he can turn around and get his chance at beating him.]

[Stubborn to the end, the both of them. Good thing, too- looks like the Shadows are beginning to thin out, dropping in numbers until only a few remain. Nice teamwork, not that either was aiming for that.]
