[The phone clicks on, and when Riku speaks, he sounds almost uncharacteristically confused.]

Does anyone else feel... noticeably different this morning? I can't put my finger on it, but something is definitely--

[There's a pause, followed by a muttered "How in the..." followed by a sort of metallic sound and the accompanying sounds of fighting.

[Namine probably shouldn't be out of bed, but she is, and is limping through a portal towards him.]

Riku, be careful!

[Way to distract him, Namine :|; He's pretty surprised to see her 1) up and about and 2) thinking with portals again.]

Namine? What are you doing here?

[Get back to bed, woman.]

I wanted to make sure you were okay... but look! The corridors!

How...?

[And a couple shadows seize this opportunity to try and launch at him. He barely catches that in time and swings wide, sending them sprawling back for the moment.]

[She rushes over to his side, opening another corridor.]

I don't know, but hurry!

[twilitpath]

[A few more quick swings of his keyblade and he'll follow her through.]

[tobreakthesky]

[And into her room they go.]

What's going on?

[twilitpath]

[He shudders once through the portal. Going through there without a coat is never pleasant.]

I don't know. Something felt different when I woke up this morning, and the next thing I know there are heartless showing up. Not to mention this.

[He holds up Way to Dawn at the last bit.]

Different as in darkness...?

[She looks serious.]

I could tell there was something off too.

[twilitpath]

That might have been it. I felt like I could actually tap into it again. But now... nothing.

[He sits down on the couch to the side.]

Well, not nothing. If I concentrate enough, I can get a spark sometimes. But that's it.

[tobreakthesky]

[She sits on the edge of the bed, hands folded in her lap.]

It took a lot of effort to get the first portal open, but the second wasn't as hard.

...Maybe it'll get easier.

[He sets his keyblade aside, not dismissing it for fear he won't be able to summon it back. After a moment, he takes a deep breath and closes his eyes in concentration, on hand open as if trying to create some dark fire.]

[She sits back, just watching silently.]

[He's trying as hard as he can, but the only result is a small spark before he exhales in exhaustion.]

So our powers are limited?

I guess so. Still, this is better than nothing, especially with the heartless showing up.
