ITEMS

GENERAL ITEMS
All characters have these items when they first arrive in Silent Hill. The items can be found on the desk of their hotel room.

Cell Phone
A small black touch-screen cell phone, very similar to the iPhone in appearance. This is what is used to post to the network and receive messages from The Order. It takes short video, photographs, records audio messages that can be either shared on the network or sent to a specific person, and sends and receives text messages. There is also a GPS map system that will show characters where they are on a map of Silent Hill and provide guidance. You can find more information about the phone in the FAQ, including details on how it works and how to post to the network.

Handheld Radio
The radio won't pick up any stations, but it may be your character's most important tool when venturing outside or in dangerous areas. The radio blasts white noise when monsters are near, and the noise gets louder as the monsters get louder. At times, it may be your character's only warning on being attacked. The radio is small enough to fit in a pocket, and can be turned on and off. The volume is also adjustable. At times, it may also broadcast messages from the Order.

Pocket Flashlight
A small flashlight, designed to fit into pockets. It has a rather bright light, excellent for illuminating the world at night, but the light also attracts monsters. The light can be turned on and off.

HEALTH & FIRST AID

Health Drink
A bitter-tasting drink in a small plastic bottle. It's full of vitamins and promotes good health. Interestingly, it seems to speed up the healing of small cuts and other minor aliments.
Can be found: Almost anywhere, just laying around. In fridges, in storage rooms, even on park benches or street corners. They're in ready supply.

First Aid Kit
A small, white plastic kit decorated with a red cross on the front. The logo is scratched and faded, but still clearly there. Inside the kit are several sizes of band-aids, a roll of bandage, gauze, a few cotton balls, a small roll of medical tape, and a small tube of antibiotic ointment (such as Neosporin). These can be used to bandage and treat wounds, but has no special healing properties.
Can be found: In homes (look in bathroom cabinets!), in many public buildings (look in offices or behind counters), and in good supply in hospital storerooms.

WEAPONS

Knife
Different knives can be found in logical places around town - for example, your character could find a steak knife in a diner or restaurant, or a butcher's knife in a kitchen or meat shop. If you're lucky, you may even find a switchblade or other self-defense knife in a house or apartment. This weapon can be found without mod permission, but please be sensible when and where it is found.
The knife is a dangerous weapon to use, because it must be used at a very close range, but it doesn't require ammunition or upkeep.

Handgun
The handgun holds ten rounds of ammunition, and ammo boxes are rare to come by. It has a good range, but many monsters take multiple shots to fell. The handgun can only be found with mod permission. If you would like your character to find a handgun, please contact a mod and they can tell you where one will be!

Steel Pipe
A steel pipe, about three feet long. The pipe is thin and not very powerful, but can be wielded by almost anybody. Steel pipes can be pulled out of broken walls with plumbing or sometimes found in industrial areas. This weapon can be found without mod permission. It is only as powerful as the arm strength of the person who wields it.

Other weapons can be acquired, but they will be used for plot purposes.
