[Towards the end of the week Hotaru takes it upon herself to be the one to drink the milk in the household. Sneaking down early in the morning she's quick to pour all but one of the bottles down the sink. No use letting anyone else be hurt after all. And then with that done she opens the single bottle

[ Minako happens to pass by when she suddenly spots Hotaru on that bench, and.. well, it's fairly easy to notice the other girl is in pain. And wasn't that the exact reason she had gone out today, to try and help out other people on the streets since someone else in their household had decided to take the burden of drinking the milk upon himself? At least this way she could still be useful.

She doesn't recognize Hotaru - although she has heard her name before and that she was looking for Usagi, Ruri had told her that - but she never saw a picture. She walks over nonetheless. ]

... Are you okay? [ It's somewhat of a useless question, she knows that much. But just to make sure.. ]

[The voice... is familiar, but the face is wrong, Hotaru's frown cut short by a wince, the younger girl rubbing her stomach in the hope that it will ease some of the pain. She's dealt with stomach aches caused by milk before, but they've never gotten this bad.

She can feel her mind drifting off, shaking it sharply before meeting Minako's eyes] Ah... it's just a stomach ache... I... I should be fine soon? Milk never does agree with me, I should be used to this. [Except not, Haruka, Michiru and Setsuna had always made sure to give her soy milk knowing how she would react.]

Milk.. [ She repeats the word, already understanding what it means with what's currently going on in the town. Not that she knows that Hotaru is lactose intolerant, so she just assumes it's another effect of the milk. ]

This time the milk is a little different though, right? [ She's not good at being reassuring - never had been, really - but she tries. ] Do you need any sort of help?

[silentfirefly]

[Her body shudders again, Hotaru looking extra queasy, unable to talk until she recovers] A-Ah... yes... And if... if you would be able to, that would be nice... I think I should go home... and rest.

Um... excuse me? A, are you alright...?

[Her face is clearly more pale than it should, Hotaru only just managing to form a shaky smile]

A-Ah... I... I should be fine. Soon, hopefully...

[ ... ]

You... um, you didn't drink any of the milk... did you?

[silentfirefly]

Ah... I did. It was only fair, other members of my house had drunk it before.

[Winces, pressing firmer against my stomach] I... I'm starting to think there was something bad in it... this isn't a normal pain I would get...

[Batman usually didn't come out in the daytime, but extenuating circumstances called for a change in routine. He's on his way to the hospital when he sees Hotaru on the bench, all but doubled over in pain.]

Miss? Are you . . . all right?

[He makes his way over to her, removes his cape, and drapes it around her shoulders.]

[She had started to drift off, losing her focus on the world as her body aches in pain, so as the cape touches her she jerks, looking up at Batman in surprise. For a moment she just stares, unsure if this is some strange hallucination, only to realise no, he's real]

...That would be helpful, yes...

[Yes, he looks quite ridiculous even with the cape, doesn't he? At least his successor's costume looks a bit better.]

. . . You drank the milk, didn't you. [Statement, not question, although he wonders why anyone would let a young lady like Hotaru drink the milk in the first place.]

Is there someplace I can take you? A doctor? A friend's house? [Because no, he's not going to leave her here in the park alone.]

[Batman you always look ridiculous. Though she runs around in a miniskirt and heeled boots who is she to judge]

Yes, I did... It only seemed fair, my housemates had done it for me.

Is there a doctor? And no... I never did find where Usagi-san lives, and I wouldn't want to bother her... If you could help me home though, I would be very thankful!

[ Usagi recognizes that face. She runs over when she sees her.]

Hotaru-chan? Hotaru-chan, are you okay?

U-Usagi-san... ah... I don't think so... I drank the milk.
