"Why did you talk to Tritter?" Chase shouted at Wilson's confession. "You're House's best friend!"
"He can't treat people like he has been," Wilson tried to reason.
"You didn't have to sell him out to the cop!"
"Yes, I did!" Wilson yelled. Chase stopped in his tracks, his tirade derailed. "He has no right to hurt people like this. Someone needs to control him."
"Cuddy--"
"She can't control him any more than you can, Chase! House doesn't listen to anyone, not even me. Tritter can make things change!"
"Not for the better! Tritter has it out for House. This will only make things worse."
"He can't be allowed to hurt you!" Chase's hand flew up to the bruise on his jaw. "He hit you, Chase," Wilson said quietly, compassion seeping into his voice.
"I'll be fine."
"House hit you! Why are you still protecting him?"
"I'll be fine, but he won't be. Not after the hell Tritter's going to put him through."
Chase snapped his case shut and stormed out of the small room, leaving Wilson to gape helplessly at the door. His arms dropped to his sides and he fell into a chair, cradling his head in his hands.
