CONCERT REACTIONS

May 13, 2011 20:14

OMG. So... I saw My Chemical Romance for the first time. It was my first rock show, and it was my first time seeing MCR, and it was my first time SKIPPING CLASS (lol, I'm such a good girl) and it was amazing. My pictures are kinda crap but that's okay, I know other people took better ones. I think I sent everything I took to twitter, so I'll just link to them there. PREPARE FOR LOTS AND LOTS OF RAMBLING. no, srsly, this is like 5,800 words of rambling (oh my god, self, r u srs?). I tried to kinda divide it into sections so it's not just a giant wall of text, lol. SO, HERE WE GO.

the day before, preparing the day of, and the line

After 6 hrs of class, I picked up my friend Cristin (@criscrashpoetry) and we stopped for some food and Starbucks and hit the roooooad! We made pretty good time, got up to Atlanta in about 4 hours, so we got there a little after midnight, I think. My grandparents were still up waiting for us, so there were introductions and stuff, and since they're remodeling their house, Cristin slept on the couch and I slept on the floor on like a camping pad thing, so it was kind of uncomfortable and I had trouble sleeping anyway because MCR OMG, even though I was already tired.

Day of the concert! We had to hang out with my grandparents for a while, and my grandma showed Cristin ALL KINDS OF RANDOM SHIT that grandparents have, and luckily Cristin just thought it was adorable, lol. But then we made a couple shopping runs and I managed to pick up a MUCH BETTER shirt to wear to the concert! Cristin then sliced up the back of it and took out the collar and made it all cool looking and it said ARMY on it so she wrote MCRMY over top of that in silver sharpie. \o/ In-progress picture! She also got a tiara that she wanted to give to Frank after, lol. PICTURE. :D We got kind of a later start than we meant to (I sort of planned to head downtown around noon but we actually left the house around 4) but we finally got to the venue and got parked with our handy little parking pass (whewww) and got in line. Here is my outfit (sorry I didn't take a pic of the back, I'll have to do that sometime), and here is Cristin's outfit.

The line was pretty interesting! I didn't talk to a lot of ppl or anything, but there were some cute outfits (nothing as killjoy-esque around us as Cristin's outfit) and a LOT of past MCR merch, which was super cool to see. I lol'd a lot at the "normal" people passing by like O.o what are all these kids wearing black doing standing on the street? hahaha. There was one dude who drove by in a kinda beat up car and had the spider painted on each side and "look alive sunshine" on the back bumper. AWESOME. And we saw Mikey and Ray walk to the bus at one point, which was neat. Ppl around us started screaming about seeing Gerard, but I missed it (either that or it was one of the other many BRIGHT RED-HAIRED ppl milling around, idk). There was also a Toro stunt-double who kept teasing us by walking around in plain sight and people would freak out because of his hair, LOL. I also got to see dancinbutterfly for a SECOND when she came by to say hi, but I didn't catch up with her again (AT LEAST WE GOT TO MEET, FINALLY!).

before the show, The Architects, Thursday, drunk lady

Once we finally got in (and luckily we were in the shade or semi-shade most of the time in line), we got into the pit in a spot kinda between Frank's side and the center, and idk how deep the crowd was but I FELT like we were maybe halfway in terms of front and back. PICTURE. I went to scope out the merch table while Cristin held our spots, and I stood there for a min 'cause I knew I'd want a shirt later and I was just like *______* IDEK.

Back up in the pit, though, there was this very very very large woman and her... sister? daughter? couldn't tell, also very large, directly in front of us, and they each had two giant cups of beer, and the lady was ALREADY pretty wasted, and like... couldn't stand still at all and since she was so large she kept pushing into people and shit, and me and all the people around us were like D: and I was sure I'd get covered in beer at some point. She turned into a total asshole as she got more drunk, too. idk what she did but it SRSLY pissed off the girls in front of her, one of them shouted to get the fuck away from her, so idek. EVENTUALLY she left to get MORE BEER because her sister/daughter went to get a spot in the balcony and left her alone. BUT SHE CAME BACK. everyone was so pissed off because she was SO MUCH MORE WASTED and srsly assholish and trying to get back to her spot, and shoving people around, and in an EPIC GROUP EFFORT (WHICH WAS AMAZING) everyone around us pushed back all at once and got her out and there were high-fives and congratulations and everything. The girl next to me got beer poured all down her shirt for her trouble, and it splashed all over my arm. O.o BUT SHE WAS GONE, whew. I don't remember when all that happened, it was sometime during either the Architects or Thursday, I think maybe she left during Architects and came back during Thursday? IDK.

EITHER WAY, though, I was a little sad because I couldn't focus on the music. Both bands were totally great and I really enjoyed them but there was all that shit going on and I couldn't WATCH, and that kinda sucked. I really liked the music, though! Some of it sounded familiar in the way that I think maybe I've listened to a few of each band's songs before? But I didn't KNOW any of the songs, and I really do need to chedk them out now. I also managed to move up a little in the crowd! PICTURE! The Architects bass player is totally adorable. (ciel_vert tells me his name is Zack and he is the only not engaged/married band member. lol <3) The drummer was also super cute. And then Thursday came on and that was cool because while I've never really listened to them, I at least know of/about them a little more, since they've been around MCR so long. That bassist is hot also. UNF SKINNY TATTOOED BOY WITH FLIPPY HAIR. hahahaha I have a type, you guys know this.

About that time is when the pit started getting super crazy and squishy. I kept all your pit tips in mind, which was SO HELPFUL I LOVE YOU GUYS, and got myself breathing space most of the time, so I think I did pretty okay! Especially for my first time, lol. It turns out a LOT of the people right around me were also seeing MCR for the first time! So that was cool. ~BONDING. It's good to bond with people that you are touching with every part of your body, lol. It got super super SUPER tight and I wormed my way a little closer to Frank's side and closer to the stage. At one point there were some random tall people who managed to get in front of me which was NOT COOL but I could still see the stage alright. PICTURE. They played Whole Lotta Love in the preshow mix, and I was like LOL heyyy but I was all thrown off because I'm so used to Adam's ~improvisations with the melody, lol. There were a couple songs ppl sang along with, that was super neat. And I saw a crew dude cross the stage with a sweet looking video camera, so... idk if that was for something official or just for the band or what, ihni. BUT IT GIVES ME HOPE, LOL. Also, NOT-Ray came back and hung out on Ray's side of the stage and did some shit aroudn the back for a while and ppl flipped out and I was like ...that's not him, dudes. Really bad PICTURE, to give you a sense of his hair, lol.

the show, random observations, THE BOYS ARE GORGEOUS, lots and lots of Frank, this is the section with tweets and pictures and the stuff you actually care about

At some point, MCR came out. I didn't really label any of my pictures, so I'll just put them all here with my random tweet observations. THIS ONE is my favorite because I think it's the clearest, but it's also the first one I took, so I did end up way closer than that by the end of the show. (All of these are without zooming in, btw.) HERE'S the whole band (kinda). Between this and the next I tweeted "Frank is beautiful" WHICH HE WAS. Then ONE OF GERARD from the beginning of Welcome to the Black Parade. Then I said "Backpats" which was when Gerard came over to Frank while he was tuning or something, facing his amp, and patted his back to get his attention. They talked for a sec, and it was adorable because Frank was all smiley and grinning and then Gerard left him and patted Mikey's back as he passed by back to the front of the stage. ♥!!

Then, "Frank is so amused by G." right before Teenagers. IDK what Gerard said in his little intro to that song, maybe that was the part about not needing to talk about shit because the songs say it all? IDK. But Frank laughed and looked at his boyfrond all adoring like. <333 Then "Unf chestpiece" which was when I realized the dark stuff peeking through Frank's shirt collar was not yet another shirt underneath but HIS SKIN, unfffff tattoos. Frank was wearing the shirt that has the helpful label "F" on the front, and by this point it had gotten sweaty and clingy and the buttons at the collar were gaping open. Dunno what song THIS is from, probably Ghost of You. Then I said "G has hipsssss" LOL because he did one of his ridiculous and amazing hand-on-hip moves. DUDE'S GOT HIPS. I don't remember what song THIS is from either but I THINK it was maybe Helena? I don't think I took any pictures during the encore. Oh and at the beginning of Ghost of You, I had to lol because they did that little piano intro bit before Gerard even introduces it, and I recognized it because I LOVE IT, and so I started screaming, but nobody else around me did, and it was only when they started playing the actually beginning of the song that the people around me started screaming and I was like LOL DID YOU NOT RECOGNIZE IT? but omg I love that songgggg.

The set list, btw, is here (which is great because beyond the songs themselves, I had no idea about the order.) I was SUPER SUPER SUPER PLEASED by the songs they played. So many of my favorites! I haven't been keeping up with what songs they've been playing regularly, so I was surprised by a lot of it. I LOVED that they did Mama, House of Wolves, I'm Not Okay, DESTROYA, Black Parade, and Ghost of You. I was REALLY SURPRISED by Teenagers, when he introduced that I was like OMG RLY? And I LOVED that he howled like a wolf to introduce House of Wolves. THAT WAS HOT. Mama had REALLY AWESOME SIRENS AND SCREAMING, it was great. Summertime, which I normally think is edging towards too-sappy was just gorgeous live. I totally felt the sappiness, but it worked. HEART BURSTING WITH LOVE.

Planetary (GO!) is like, THE THEME SONG for the pit, I think. It was PERFECT to get everyone in the zone. DANCEY AS FUCK, and SO BOUNCY AND UPBEAT, and the "if my velocity starts to make you sweat" just makes me lol because OMG SO SWEATY in there. For Not Okay, Frank twisted his mic around and tapped it for his line. I don't remember if he tapped it with his middle finger or just flipped it off after, but there was lots of flipping the bird around that part, lol. For the intros of Vampire Money, Frank was ADORABLE and hilarious and either forgot what he was going to say or didn't say it fast enough, because Gerard said his name and Frank was like ... and then Gerard said Mikey's name and Frank shrugged and made a face, lol. CUTEST. He also crossed himself at the line "patron saint of switchblade fights" in Our Lady of Sorrows, which just, omg, I have such a kink. LOL

Helena was AMAZING. A M A Z I N G. Frank loves that song, you guys. He played his fucking HEART OUT during it, you could like, SEE A DIFFERENCE, it was kind of amazing. I was also so fascinated by the way he changed from song to song. He was always enthusiastic and stuff, but sometimes he was SCREAMING HIS HEAD OFF and sometimes he was looking down at his hands with that adorable little wrinkle of concentration between his eyebrows. He looks so gorgeous like that. I was also struck by how THIN he is, like in his arms and legs. I couldn't really get a sense of his height because he was obviously way taller than me on stage and I'm a poor judge of height anyway, I mean, obviously he's tiny, but I kinda wish I'd seen him after the show just to SEE him standing next to normal people. But yeah, dude is TINY all over, skinny arms and legs, I kind of love it. He's super hot.

Gerard has AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL EYES. I didn't really get the sense that we had any eye contact, but he did look in my direction several times, and omg, his eyes. GORGEOUS. MIKEY, THOUGH. omg. Mikey kinda blew me away with his intensity. SO INTENSE. I did feel like I got eye contact with him a few times, and it made me think, srsly, "WHY HAVE I NOT BEEN GIVING MIKEY ENOUGH LOVE?!" hahahaha. Gerard often looked like he was 12, and Mikey looked like his hot older brother. LOL unf, Mikeyway, turn it down. OR DON'T, THAT WORKS TOO. I made heart-hands at him a few times, lol. MIKEYWAY. Gerard also had hilariously perfect Jesus poses, I loved that. He looks so fucking good, and I said it before, but damn, the boy knows how to work his hips. The most I saw of Ray was a few glimpses of his hair when Gerard went over and sang by him a couple times, and I did see Dewees a bit before the boys came out but not much after that, and I saw Pedicone a few times when the crowd parted perfectly, lol. I saw Frank play to him once, that was awesome and really hot. They were way into it and Pedicone was all concentratey-faced and staring at Frank and his arms looked delicious.

I couldn't really understand Gerard at all. My ears were totally blown since the Architects started, there was so much screaming directly into my ears and I was pretty close to the speakers. All his banter just sounded muffled and weird, and I could only catch a few words. I haven't watched any of the videos from the concert yet, so idk if anyone caught any banter. I couldn't even hear his voice very well during the songs beyond just the general SENSE of his voice; I mostly just sang along because I knew the songs and could follow the melodies, lol. I did wanna say something about the difference in MCR versus Adam live (though I haven't PERSONALLY seen Adam, there have been WAY more awesome concert videos of him than of MCR). While with Adam it's all about his voice, and he sounds amazing, with Gerard it kinda felt more like he's just another ~instrument, if that makes sense? He sounds damn good live, but his voice blends with the music in a totally different way, and it feels appropriate for this kinda show, for sure. IDK, that's probably really obvious to people, or just really dumb, but I'd never heard Gerard live, so it was like a moment of clarity for me, thinking about him and Adam.

By the end of the show, I got pretty damn close to Frank's side of the barrier. I think there were about two or three people in front of me and that was it. I was kinda blown away. *________* At the end he kissed the pictures of his girls (of course, I mean, everyone knows he does that), and it FELT like a ritual, even if I hadn't known he always does that, it FELT like a good luck charm kinda thing. It was kinda beautiful. Ray ran into him and patted his stomach as they left and Frank was all smiley and :D :D :D at him, and then he did that kinda prayer-hands/head-bow thing that people do and said "thank you" to the crowd a couple times, and omg, he was just so EARNEST about it, it was SERIOUSLY ADORABLE. He was just PLEASED AS PUNCH and so fucking GRATEFUL, it was amazing to see. Frank, I can't love you more than this, I JUST CAN'T. Then Pedicone grabbed him as they left the stage and they kinda hugged and walked off with their arms around each other's backs and they were SUCH BFFS. <3 I was really focused on Frank (CAN YOU TELL) so I couldn't tell ya what Mikey and Gerard and Dewees did as they left. I think they went off the other direction? IHNI, tbh.

merch/the pit

Afterwards I found Cristin and we hurried our asses down to merch and weren't waiting in line long at all. It was good, actually; gave us a chance to catch our breath. I bought a Look Alive Sunshine shirt and the poster, which looks awesome. Cristin also got a shirt and a poster, and then got one of the bracelets with the spider on it at the last second. (When we were outside, sitting on the ground, we were just talking and coming down a bit and she was fiddling with the bracelet on her wrist and all the sudden it started FLASHING COLORS and we were like WHAT THE FUCK THAT'S AWESOME. LOL) After that we were DYING for water, but before we started pushing through the crowd back up the stairs (merch was in the basement), I saw these two water fountains and there was NOBODY FUCKING THERE. it was amazing. *____* COLD WATER. FREE. I nearly made myself sick on it, lol, it was like a shock to my system, but it felt good. Then we went outside to wait.

BUT omg I need to talk about the pit a little more. Obviously it was my first time in that kind of situation. Besides the few assholes and weirdos, it was a REALLY GREAT CROWD. Everyone was really supportive and looking out for each other, it was amazing!! At one point the dude next to me was fanning his girlfriend in front of him with his ticket paper and a few minutes later I started getting overheated and fanning myself with my hand and he turned around and started fanning me and I was like <3 THANK YOU. There were water bottles passed around, and ppl kept each other on their feet, and for the MOST part everyone parted easily when people needed to get out. There was one girl a few people in front of me who was I guess claustrophobic and about to pass out? But security came to pull her out and she DIDN'T WANT TO MOVE, and that was her own fault. She did get pulled out eventually, I think. There was also a dude next to me for a while who was OLD, like, GRANDPA OLD, and he wasn't moving AT ALL, it was like he was a brick wall, and I got pushed into him really hard and it mostly just HURT LIKE FUCK, and everyone around was kinda like dude, you can't just stand there, and eventually I think he got out too (whew). At one point there was a tall guy in front of me with gauges in his ears and I couldn't see the stage but I COULD see Gerard and his red red red hair THROUGH THIS DUDE'S EARRINGS. LOL.

It was probably the sweatiest I've ever been in my life. The shirt I wore underneath was a workout shirt that had "helps wick away moisture" on the label and omg that thing was a lifesaver. When we got outside, it was mostly dry. The shirt on top was SOAKED THROUGH, of course. lol. Having my hair up was one of the best tips ever, I think, thanks for that. I had pigtails in, and at one point I shook my head back and forth like Mikey does soemtimes and I could FEEL the sweat shaking off it, it was distugsting. I didn't get to the point where I felt like I was going to pass out at all (thank god) but I did get REALLY hot to the point of being overheated and nauseous a few times. But I kept my elbows up and got myself breathing space when I needed it (usually). The first half of MCR's set was REALLY pushy and tight but I think the scond half cihlled out just enough that I was able to have room to breathe and to dance a bit and that was perfect. OH, and it was SO CRAZY, during most of the bouncy parts (especially Planetary) I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO MOVE, I was just lifted off my feet by everyone else. That was kind of surreal and kind of awesome.

I got my toes stepped on a few times, once hard enough that I worried for a min, but sneakers were a good footwear choice overall. I was gonna maybe wear these clunky shoes with a bit of a platform and a bit of a heel but they have NO SUPPORT and it's like standing on a block of wood, and wow, I was thankful I didn't wear those afterward. I felt kinda bad, lol, I had the "omg my feet hurt" thought halfway through the ARCHITECTS' set. By the end I wanted to collapse and put my feet up. I got elbowed a few times in the neck, which sucked, but I think I eventually shoved that girl away, and I got cracked on the head by this one dude's elbow because he was so much taller than me and WOW that hurt, I kept like, fist-pumping and whatever then grabbing my head, then trying again, then grabbing my head again, lol. My arms are SO SORE yesterday and today, and I have one dark bruise on my bicep. I don't even remember getting hit in the arms a ton, so the soreness might just be from all the fist-pumping and shit that I did. My back is majorly sore also, but I think sleeping on the floor and driving for a gazillion hours contributed to that as well, lol.

after the concert

At one point Cristin and I randomly RAN INTO A FRIEND FROM SCHOOL, which was surreal. We didn't really hang out with her, though. I think we saw her during Thursday's set? So we stuck together for a while but eventaully we all got split up. I found Cristin later by the fact that she was wearing the tiara on her head, lol. My ears were BLOWN afterward, EVERYTHING was muffled and I couldn't hear shit, and Cristin and I made our way up to the parking lot to wait by the buses. It was really crowded at first, and no way were we gonna stand up, so we found an empty parking spot and sat down with a couple water bottles. It was hot out, so that didn't really help, but it would probably feel awful to go outside covered in sweat and have it be cold, right? I mean, hot and humid didn't help at all, but sweaty and shivering probably wouldn't have been better. I leaned against a car for a while. We tried to give our feet time to recover. A lot of people left after a while, and we waited until the buses left. At one point a guy said the parking garage attendant was locking up and we didn't know if that was true or not so we grabbed my car and brought it to the parking lot with the buses and waited in there for a while (also so I could charge my phone which was COMPLETELY DEAD by that point).

I really really wanted to see them, at least, and hopefully say hi and tell them how thankful I was that THIS was my very first rock show experience, and how awesome it was, and I figured I could get the POSTER signed instead of my crappy paper printout ticket, but they never came out. We stayed until the bus drove away, then left right when they did, so we were next to the bus for a min which was kind of lol-cool. The Thursday dudes were hanging out with fans and taking pictures and stuff but I didn't really feel like it was worth it since I didn't know them AT ALL, and I couldn't have picked them out of a crowd (excpet the hot tattooed bassist) and idek if the Architects dudes were out since I couldn't remember what they looked like. ALSO there was a dog in the equipment truck's window. It stuck its head out and barked a bit, and Cristin and I were like AWWW and "I bet Frank enjoys that". HEE.

We drove home around 1-ish, I guess, and it took half an hour and we wanted to grab some food at IHOP (we were CRAVING eggs--and I told Cristin about the soft boiled egg conversation Neil Lambert started, lol), but the one by my grandparents' house was CLOSED and I was EXHAUSTED so we just went back and went to bed (on the floooooor, ow). THEN, LOL, Cristin went to sleep and I stayed up a little longer to check twitter (LOL ADDICT) and say hi before dropping off, and so when I finally turned off my phone and put my eyemask on, she was already asleep. BUT SHE TALKED IN HER SLEEP. I've never been in a room with someone who talks in their sleep, lol. so I thought she was talking to me! Because my ears were still fucked up and I couldn't tell what she was saying, and I was half asleep, and she wasn't making sense and I was like whut? whut? and eventually I figured out she was sleeping but I swear I heard her say Frank and Mikey's names at one point, LOL.

THIS is what I looked like before going to bed. That Urban Decay primer potion is the SHIT, omg, my makeup was almost perfect even after ALL THAT SWEAT and rubbing my eyes because they started stinging with it. My hair apparently gets super curly when it's sweaty! WHY WON'T IT DO THAT NORMALLY? lol ugh, hair. ANYWAY, we got up the next morning and I was just going to skip the shower and hit the road to get to Savannah in time for class, but then I looked in the mirror. LOL NO. (ps: awesome squid shirt by theopteryx). but my makeup was STILL nearly perfect, and that was after sleeping with an eyemask rubbing my eyes all night, which usually makes me look like a zombie. wow, urban decay. <3 my hair was UTTERLY DISGUSTING, though, so I needed to shower. lol

BTW, I like to backread twitter as much as possible when I can so I don't miss things going on and so I can keep up with what all my friends are up to and stuff, and when I went to bed, tweetdeck said something like 2000 unread tweets, and I was like ugh, no. BUT THEN when I woke up, it was like "5 unread tweets" and I was like LOL COCKBLOCKED. I felt SO out of the loop and disconnected ALL DAY, because I then had to drive back and go to class. It was SUCH a weird feeling. I missed you guys terribly. /separation anxiety

the next day

LUCKILY nothing was due in class. I wore the skirt and leggings I thought I'd wear to the concert (wore jeans instead, yay pockets!) and my new awesome MCR shirt, and we got out of the house ON TIME and managed to get away from my grandparents trying to force food on us (it would've made us late), and just stopped in at Starbucks for some egg sandwiches to go and drinkssss. Then we hit the road! I was tired as FUCK, omg, I don't think I've ever driven that tired and I do not recommend it. I never actually dozed or anything, but I could feel myself zoning out a few times (16 from Macon to Savannah is fucking BORING, dude). I had to stop a few times to wake myself up a bit. And NORMALLY I don't drink caffeine like AT ALL, but I figured I needed something so I got some soda and kept munching on gummi bears to keep myself awake. We got into Savannah with perfect timing; I dropped Cristin off at her house, then went to class, where I got to SIT and get on a COMPUTER and since not many people had scripts to read, we watched the second half of an awful movie (there were nuns in an orgy scene and a torture scene and a burning alive scene) and I fell asleep during all the screaming (and my ears were still fucked up so I couldn't hear all that well anyway). I ran into cute redhead from my Mythology class, though! And he was like "you weren't at class yesterday. :( it was weird." and he told me stuff I ~missed that I didn't really miss. He's so sweet! And ADORABLE.

My second class was a "field trip" to a reception and a reading from the student writing publication, Artemis. My friend and I didn't realize there was food until a lot of it was gone, but I grabbed a brownie, which... was so not what I needed. BUT OH, my Mythology teacher was randomly there, and she was like "HIIIIII, HOW WAS YOUR TRIP? and oh by the way I want you to present your paper on Lilith to the class because it was so good!" and I just kinda stood there like ...okay! awesome! :D? because I think that paper is SHIT, especially compared to my first one which had actual research and coherent thoughts. O.o but anyway, I asked her how the class was and she was like IT WAS SO QUIET WITHOUT YOU, lololol. She's awesome, though. Anyway, I dozed a bit during the readings, because not everyone had good read-aloud abilities, and some of the poetry was just weird, and my friend had to keep elbowing me.

THEN I FINALLY GOT HOME at like 8pm, after all that on top of not really sleeping for two nights in a row. I unpacked a bit, like my phone charger and pjs and stuff, and chatted with roomie a little (but thankfully not much because I think she could see I was near death) and I was about to crawl into bed and DIE when my bff Hilary called with some urgent emergency stuff. So I talked to her for a while, caught up on online things a little tiny bit, and read a bit of fic, then FINALLY crashed around midnight, I think. And I slept about 9 hours, which was earlier than the alarm I set, but I fell back asleep for several hours and actually got up a little after noon, because I had a career advising meeting (which went super well, btw). And that brings me up to today! Sorry for all the boring rambling you don't care about, lol.

I'm still pretty sore, I have a blue bruise on my arm, and I'm still tired. My ears aren't fully back to normal yet. I lost 2.5 pounds (lol yay). I wrote a TON of notes to myself last night and I think I covered pretty much everything I meant to. I just rambled SO MUCH, this is ridiculous.

I'm SO GLAD MCR was my first rock show experience. It was an amazing, amazing show, with SO MANY of my absolute favorite songs, and I got really close to the barrier in front of my favorite person (somewhere close to this person because while I didn't get the water, I was right there next to where he threw it), and it was just... amazing. Awesome, in the true sense of the word. The crowd was, for the most part, really excellent to each other, and I pushed myself way past my comfort zone of not touching people and enjoyed the hell out of it, and being in the pit at a rock show was one of my ~life experiences I needed to do before, y'know, I die, and I did it at my VERY FIRST SHOW, with my VERY FAVORITE BAND. I just can't even. I'm so grateful for the whole experience. I WOULD do it again, but maybe not for MCR if I see them again soon, because the next time I see them (BECAUSE I WILL SEE THEM AGAIN, I MUST), I think I want to be in the balcony or something, where there's a little more breathing room and I can actually focus on the stage and not just surviving, you know? But now that I know I CAN survive the pit, it's definitely something I would do again. SO MUCH LOVE. Thank you guys so much for your concert tips, I really really appreciated it so much (lol I'm such a crazy person about being unprepared) and I'm sorry I didn't get to hang out with ppl more before or after (erraticonstilts, I wish we'd been able to meet! dancinbutterfly, we shall have to hang out sometime later!), but it was just really fantastic overall. Amazing experience.
