Multifandom D/s Rec List
Everyone's been making rec lists for MCR fandom, like, all the must-read stories for newbies. Pretty much everything I would rec has already been recced, SO I decided to do something a little different. I have been told that I write D/s fic pretty well (♥!), but there's some excellent stuff out there that I love to read and reread and reread, fics that inspire me and that I've learned from, so, here's a list of those. It says "multifandom" in the subject line, but it's really only the fandoms and pairings I like, so don't go expecting something varied and diverse. Also, everything here is NC-17 unless otherwise noted.
Lord of the Rings RPS
C-verse by shaenie - Billy Boyd/Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd/Dominic Monaghan/Elijah Wood
I've told this story a couple of times, but this series was literally my introduction to RPS fanfic. It has... probably skewed my views of fandom and fanfic, but I don't even care, because this series is so amazing, I think everyone should read it whether they're into lotrips or not. It's really hard for me to choose favorites, but man, this fic? MY FAVORITE. The way she gets into the characters' heads is really inspiring to me. The POV is so tight, and it's just so fascinating to see the differences in how they think and experience things, especially their relationship, since they have such different roles. Billy is the Dom, Dominic is the sub, and Elijah is a switch, and... yeah, their thought processes. So interesting. My favorite parts are Cusp and Curiosity/Consecution (they were posted on lj together), simply because Dominic is my favorite character to read and focus on.
And look at that, it's recently all been put in the same place on AO3 for reading convenience! Except it's missing one of my favorite parts, Memento, which doesn't even have Billy in it, but it's so so great. Viggo takes photos of Dominic for Billy, all from Viggo's POV. The dynamic between them is so fascinating, especially because Viggo's "outside" the whole BDSM scene, looking into their relationship, and basically being a temporary stand-in for Billy. I could talk about this whole series for-fucking-EVER but I need to keep going and talk about these other fics, so just know that this series is AMAZING and you should read it. And for completeness sake, there's one more part called Ghost which is set in the same universe, but from Orlando's POV, wanting Elijah, who wants Dom and Billy.
Push, Pull, Push by msilverstar and unstealthy - Billy Boyd/Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd/Rachel Weisz, Billy Boyd/Dominic Monaghan/Rachel Weisz
There's a lot of great stuff in here. This is another scenario in which Billy has two subs, and they have different needs and different preferences. Seriously, every one of these parts is super hot, and they explore a variety of kinks in various combinations. Side note: before reading this fic, I only vaguely knew who Rachel Weisz was, and now, every time I see her in a movie, I'm all ooh, Rachellllllll! ♥_____♥ This series also deals with some of the angst of being in a long-distance polyamorous relationship. One of my favorite parts: Table Manners (it's a little bit angsty as well, though).
The Incline of Trees by kiltsandlollies and almaviva (also known as lotruniversity) - Billy Boyd/Dominic Monaghan
I must admit, I haven't been keeping up to date with the rewrite/repost of all the chapters, but I've always loved the style of their writing, and the way they do D/s is pretty detailed and fantastic. Billy's a philosophy professor and Dominic's a student, and they go through a lot of shit, but the power dynamic in their relationship is really well done. I've been meaning to reread this and catch up... It's not all online yet, but they every now and then they go though a burst of regularly-scheduled posting before disappearing for a while again. Acquiescence (Book 2, Chapter 10) is one of my favorite parts, but this is a series you really shouldn't read out of order.
Fun & Games: The Downward Spiral by azewewish - Karl Urban/Dominic Monaghan (WARNING: extremely dark, dub-con/non-con)
Don't read this if you're at all squeamish, it's a total MINDFUCK. It is really well done, though. But holy shit. But I'm still reccing it. But seriously, holy shit.
Phone Tig by apple_pi and lord_alexander - Billy Boyd/Dominic Monaghan
This (to counter the previous rec) is a really fun, lighthearted, hilarious fic, that happens to have some nice bondage in it. They like to switch it up, though, both of them play for dominance and it's just really fun. Billy and Dom are phone sex line operators.
Draw Us Near, Bind Us Tight by feelforfaith - Billy Boyd/Dominic Monaghan
This is some really interesting role-reversal. I haven't reread this one as much as some of the others, but it's still a pretty excellent take on a dominant person giving up control.
lotr_dungeon (RPG)
At one point, I went through and read (or at least skimmed) just about every post in that comm, and I made a list of links for myself of the storylines and specific posts that I really enjoyed. I no longer have that list (wahhhh!) and I'm not going to go through it now and find things, but I'll tell you what I remember. I mostly read the parts involving Dominic, because he's my favorite character. He has a pretty epic relationship with Marton Csokas, which is totally a pairing I wouldn't normally read, but their story is amazing, and also pretty heartbreaking. I don't want to give away what happens, but there's a fair amount of abandonment and commitment issues. Besides that, though, there's a lot of really great stuff in there , even from characters I don't normally read. And because there are so many characters (and writers), a lot of different kinks and relationship types get explored in detail. One of my favorite parts was a really sweet and loving but very intense fisting scene between Dom and Marton.
lotr_porn (RPG), but the parts I'll be talking about are Sir Ian McKellen/Dominic Monaghan, and Billy Boyd/Dominic Monaghan
This whole universe is really great and there were some great writers involved (all the characters work in the porn industry!), but I just want to talk about this part, between Sir Ian and Dominic. Oh, and this is psudo-incest, because Ian is supposed to be Dominic's uncle. But this scene is really awesome because it takes this undefined tension and dynamic between them and puts a name to it for the first time. It does get a little violent as well.
My other favorite part is actually an AU of this universe called Afterparty, by shaenie (who writes Billy) and byblythe (who writes Dominic, called Nic in this 'verse). This fic is dub-con, but it's really damn good, and really hot on top of that. These two parts and a couple more bits of this universe are linked here, and I'm pretty sure the rest can be found at the RPG comm.
It Glows Red by beizy - Billy Boyd/Dominic Monaghan
If I'm remembering correctly, there's some D/s in several of beizy's fics, but this one is probably my favorite. Lovely and descriptive. Restrained is another very good one. beizy's fics are all awesome.
Offering by kiltsandlollies - Billy Boyd/Dominic Monaghan, Elijah Wood/Dominic Monaghan, Sean Astin/Dominic Monaghan
One of the few fics featuring Sean Astin that I've read. This is pretty angsty, but so so good. Basically, Dominic submits to each of them, so there's some interesting differences in their styles.
Mehndi by almaviva - Billy Boyd/Dominic Monaghan (strong R)
Very quiet and subdued, but excellent D/s. This feels like part of a much larger world.
Explication by lux__aeterna - implied Billy Boyd/Dominic Monaghan (PG-13)
Short little ficlet, but so descriptive, and this feels really in character and true to life, and I just love it. Possibly because of my own fascination with Dom's affinity for wearing leather around his wrists.
LotR RPS is a fandom FULL of excellent BDSM fics, and I'm glad I started out in that fandom. There are far too many to name here (I've gone way past the number I expected to limit myself to anyway), so check out my delicious for more.

As Mine See It by bexless - Frank Iero/Gerard Way
This is one of my favorites, becaues they're so domestic and caring, but when they're in a scene, they're in a scene. Plus, it's really hot.
To Cast Turpentine Kisses by theopteryx and ciel_vert (also known as the teacher/student notfic) - Frank Iero/Gerard Way
One of my faaavorites, because of the way they deal with kink. Honestly, this fic feels like it belongs with the lotrips list, because of the tone and how the characters relate to each other. I don't know if that makes sense, it probably doesn't, but it's meant as a compliment. This is so fucking hot and well done, I can't even stand it.
Signal Flare by 3jane and dexwebster - Bob Bryar/Frank Iero
This is one of the ones I reread the most from this fandom. This fic is interesting because it's Frank's first time, and he has no idea what he's doing, he just knows that he wants it, wants more, and Bob is excellent, pushing Frank to his limits but not past them, and still taking care.
Some Japanese Meditation Thing by dexwebster - Bob Bryar/Frank Iero
Bondage!fic that's really good! I like this because of how subtle it is; Bob doesn't do anything but tie Frank up, but it affects them both so much.
devotion and desire by sparkbyspark - Frank Iero/Jamia Nestor
This is excellent because it's exploring something that I've never seen before in fic, fireplay. Not my kink at all, personally; I actually dislike fire a lot, but this is really well done, and I love the dynamic of Frank and Jamia's relationship. They're my favorite canon couple to read and write about.
Desolation Row by claire_debonair - Frank Iero/Gerard Way/Mikey Way (WARNING: incest)
I like this becaue it's from Mikey's POV, and Mikey doesn't know the dynamics of Frank and Gerard's relationship as they draw him in. He has to figure things out by how they act, and eventually he finds his own place with them, and it's all unspoken but perfectly understood.
Marking Time by delphinapterus - Frank Iero/Gerard Way, Frank Iero/Ray Toro, Frank Iero/Mikey Way, Frank Iero/Matt Pelissier, Frank Iero/Jamia Nestor
This is not a happy fic. The characters don't really know what they're doing, and it fucks Frank up a lot; most of this fic is the h/c of him being taken out of this bad situation and learning about proper aftercare, and how important it is.
make me by escherzo - Frank Iero/Mikey Way
I know, it's Frank/Mikey, but it's really fucking good. I don't know what to say about it besides that. I don't really like Frank/Mikey, but in this, it doesn't bother me at all.
Black and blue and read all over by 7iris - Frank Iero/Jepha Howard
This one (for once) isn't really about Dominance and submission, but about pain, and Frank discovering his pain kink with Jepha's help. It's pretty short but it gets across a lot about Frank and Jepha's characters.
Hold Still - Frank Iero/Jepha Howard
I don't even know Jepha all that well, but he and Frank go together perfectly in my mind. This is kind of a stretch for me, because Frank is the Dom and I usually prefer him as the sub, but this is just some really well written kink.
Bad News (Well HE Is) by swear_jar and apiphile and its sequel, Modern Alchemy - multiple pairings, but I'm focusing on Bob Bryar/Frank Iero
A hilarious take on watersports, and Frank's special brand of annoying people until they force him into submission. The sequel is really my favorite, because it's all about Frank and Bob (and Jepha and Dan), and it's way more BDSM-oriented. Don't give it a miss just because it's watersports; I didn't think I'd like it either, but it's amazing, and unexpectedly hot like burning.
Rules by i_amthecosmos and azrielen - Bob Bryar/Frank Iero
I don't know what to say about this one, besides that it's really nice D/s, and it's more of Frank being a little asshole and getting put in his place.
Trypanophilia by ninasfic - Bob Bryar/Frank Iero
Piercing!kink! This is really sweet and humorous, actually, and I love that while Frank totally gets off on the pain, he's the one making all the moves in their relationship.
Proofverse by anonymous - Frank Iero/Gerard Way/Mikey Way/Bob Bryar/Ray Toro (WARNING: incest)
This is excellent, I really enjoy each new installment, and I kind of wish I knew who was writing it, so I could stalk their journal and find out more about this universe. I love this author's approach to GSF and how they act as a group, and I love the glimpses we get into each of the characters, especially Frank coming into his submissiveness. I want more of this, and I obsessively check the anon fic meme lists when they're posted.
There's something about most of these bandom fics that I can't put my finger on, but they feel different than the lotrips BDSM fics. I don't know why; there's excellent fic in both fandoms. I have less meta about this fandom, apparently. Except that's not exactly true, because I have a ton of meta in my head about the people themselves. I don't know why it feels so different, but it's weirding me out. Anyway, moving on.
There doesn't seem to be quiiiite as much BDSM in this fandom as there was in lotrips, but there's still quite a lot that I have saved to my delicious that I haven't recced here. Check it out. I've been a little lenient with my bdsm tag, though; most of these just have some element (sometimes a pretty vague element) of D/s.
Adam Lambert (and Co.)
Note: I'm kind of a newcomer to this fandom, and I haven't backread a ton of fic, so most of this is current, and there's probably (hopefully) some good older stuff that I've missed.
Built Upon the Water's Edge by Minxie - Adam Lambert/Tommy Joe Ratliff
I. Love. This. Gradual power exchange. I've been waiting so long for a fic like this, I pretty much flipped out when I read it for the first time. This is great because it's so domestic; it's not about the kink, it's about caring for someone, helping them and protecting them. It's one thing I really love about this fandom, and about Adam (and I know this is a little bit creepy)--he gives so much of himself for us to work with, so much of his personality and attitude. So there can be fics like this and they feel so true to life.
A Need So Fundamental by Minxie - Adam Lambert/Tommy Joe Ratliff
This is another gradual power exchange fic, by the same author (which I didn't realize until now). This one gets a little more into the kinky sex than the other one, but they're both just really damn good.
Slipping Under by sulwen - Adam Lambert/Tommy Joe Ratliff
Here's another fic about watersports, but don't run away, this one manages to make it work really fucking well too, and it's not like the other watersports fic I linked at all. I love Adam in this, how he doesn't judge even though he thinks it's weird, and how he gives Tommy what he wants, even though he hardly knows what he's doing with this kink.
The Boat That Would Row You Back, Carefully by isagel - Adam Lambert/Tommy Joe Ratliff
This, this is one of my absoute favorites. Amazing. It's all about aftercare and subspace, and it's really well done. It's also nice because it doesn't just show how a scene affects Tommy, it also shows how it affects Adam, caring for Tommy and bringing him back up.
Command and Control by LittleMousling - Adam Lambert/Brad Bell
One of my favorite things about this is the setup, how it says right off the bat that "they have singals in place, so they don't have to break the scene." I love how relationshippy it feels; it really feels like they have a very deep, real relationship, they really know each other, and that this play is only part of it, something they do in addition. It's a really serious fisting scene, but their relationship makes it feel even more intense. LittleMousling has more really good Adam/Brad fics, too; one of my other favorites is Houndstooth and Gray, which, thanks to Brad, is inspired from real tweets.
Heat Me Up by rivers_bend - Adam Lambert/Tommy Joe Ratliff
I like this because it's Tommy taking control of the situation in order to give up control of the scene. It's kind of like one of the previous fics in that Adam is trying something new, something he's unsure about, in order to give Tommy what he wants. I really love Tommy in this, though.
You Look Like I Need A Drink by blue_soaring on dreamwidth - Adam Lambert/Tommy Joe Ratliff
Excellent descriptions in this, and Adam fighting his own desires.
Putting Holes in the World by janescott - Adam Lambert/Tommy Joe Ratliff
I don't actually find piercing a very hot kink, but this one totally does it for me. This fic has a more extreme example of D/s, and sometimes this can be really horribly done in fic, but in this case it's really nice and sweet, even though Adam has complete control. I like the seriousness of 24/7 relationships like these, and it's nice to see it well done, even if it's only a brief glimpse.
Worth A Thousand Words by gypsy_scribbles - Adam Lambert/Original Male Character
I love love love this fic, because it made me like bottom!Adam. I've read it a handful of times, and sometimes it's even worked for me, but this fic made me actually believe it. Adam's still Adam, but he's with someone more dominant than he is, and this is just really well done. I want to know more about their relationship and this 1960s universe.
And as always, there's more to be found at my delicious! Also, there's a surprising amount of good stuff over at the glam_kink meme. I like how kinky this fandom seems to be, and how, even if Adam isn't all that kinky in real life, he makes it easy to push him to that extreme in fiction.
That pretty much concludes this rec list. Hopefully I rambled enough-but-not-too-much for you. :) This was really a lot of fun, because I had an excuse to reread some really good fic. Especially in lotrips; I haven't read much in that fandom in a long time, so it was good to revisit. Oh, and if you have any other must-read BDSM fics, please link me to them! This one (for once) isn't really about Dominance and submission, but about pain, and Frank discovering his pain kink with Jepha's help. It's pretty short but it gets across a lot about Frank and Jepha's characters.

I don't even know Jepha all that well, but he and Frank go together perfectly in my mind. This is kind of a stretch for me, because Frank is the Dom and I usually prefer him as the sub, but this is just some really well written kink.

A hilarious take on watersports, and Frank's special brand of annoying people until they force him into submission. The sequel is really my favorite, because it's all about Frank and Bob (and Jepha and Dan), and it's way more BDSM-oriented. Don't give it a miss just because it's watersports; I didn't think I'd like it either, but it's amazing, and unexpectedly hot like burning.

I don't know what to say about this one, besides that it's really nice D/s, and it's more of Frank being a little asshole and getting put in his place.

Piercing!kink! This is really sweet and humorous, actually, and I love that while Frank totally gets off on the pain, he's the one making all the moves in their relationship.
Proofverse by anonymous - Frank Iero/Gerard Way/Mikey Way/Bob Bryar/Ray Toro (WARNING: incest)
This is excellent, I really enjoy each new installment, and I kind of wish I knew who was writing it, so I could stalk their journal and find out more about this universe. I love this author's approach to GSF and how they act as a group, and I love the glimpses we get into each of the characters, especially Frank coming into his submissiveness. I want more of this, and I obsessively check the anon fic meme lists when they're posted.
There's something about most of these bandom fics that I can't put my finger on, but they feel different than the lotrips BDSM fics. I don't know why; there's excellent fic in both fandoms. I have less meta about this fandom, apparently. Except that's not exactly true, because I have a ton of meta in my head about the people themselves. I don't know why it feels so different, but it's weirding me out. Anyway, moving on.
There doesn't seem to be quiiiite as much BDSM in this fandom as there was in lotrips, but there's still quite a lot that I have saved to my delicious that I haven't recced here. Check it out. I've been a little lenient with my bdsm tag, though; most of these just have some element (sometimes a pretty vague element) of D/s.

Note: I'm kind of a newcomer to this fandom, and I haven't backread a ton of fic, so most of this is current, and there's probably (hopefully) some good older stuff that I've missed.
Built Upon the Water's Edge by Minxie - Adam Lambert/Tommy Joe Ratliff
I. Love. This. Gradual power exchange. I've been waiting so long for a fic like this, I pretty much flipped out when I read it for the first time. This is great because it's so domestic; it's not about the kink, it's about caring for someone, helping them and protecting them. It's one thing I really love about this fandom, and about Adam (and I know this is a little bit creepy)--he gives so much of himself for us to work with, so much of his personality and attitude. So there can be fics like this and they feel so true to life.
A Need So Fundamental by Minxie - Adam Lambert/Tommy Joe Ratliff
This is another gradual power exchange fic, by the same author (which I didn't realize until now). This one gets a little more into the kinky sex than the other one, but they're both just really damn good.
Slipping Under by sulwen - Adam Lambert/Tommy Joe Ratliff
Here's another fic about watersports, but don't run away, this one manages to make it work really fucking well too, and it's not like the other watersports fic I linked at all. I love Adam in this, how he doesn't judge even though he thinks it's weird, and how he gives Tommy what he wants, even though he hardly knows what he's doing with this kink.
The Boat That Would Row You Back, Carefully by isagel - Adam Lambert/Tommy Joe Ratliff
This, this is one of my absoute favorites. Amazing. It's all about aftercare and subspace, and it's really well done. It's also nice because it doesn't just show how a scene affects Tommy, it also shows how it affects Adam, caring for Tommy and bringing him back up.
Command and Control by LittleMousling - Adam Lambert/Brad Bell
One of my favorite things about this is the setup, how it says right off the bat that "they have singals in place, so they don't have to break the scene." I love how relationshippy it feels; it really feels like they have a very deep, real relationship, they really know each other, and that this play is only part of it, something they do in addition. It's a really serious fisting scene, but their relationship makes it feel even more intense. LittleMousling has more really good Adam/Brad fics, too; one of my other favorites is Houndstooth and Gray, which, thanks to Brad, is inspired from real tweets.
Heat Me Up by rivers_bend - Adam Lambert/Tommy Joe Ratliff
I like this because it's Tommy taking control of the situation in order to give up control of the scene. It's kind of like one of the previous fics in that Adam is trying something new, something he's unsure about, in order to give Tommy what he wants. I really love Tommy in this, though.

Excellent descriptions in this, and Adam fighting his own desires.
Putting Holes in the World by janescott - Adam Lambert/Tommy Joe Ratliff
I don't actually find piercing a very hot kink, but this one totally does it for me. This fic has a more extreme example of D/s, and sometimes this can be really horribly done in fic, but in this case it's really nice and sweet, even though Adam has complete control. I like the seriousness of 24/7 relationships like these, and it's nice to see it well done, even if it's only a brief glimpse.
Worth A Thousand Words by gypsy_scribbles - Adam Lambert/Original Male Character
I love love love this fic, because it made me like bottom!Adam. I've read it a handful of times, and sometimes it's even worked for me, but this fic made me actually believe it. Adam's still Adam, but he's with someone more dominant than he is, and this is just really well done. I want to know more about their relationship and this 1960s universe.
And as always, there's more to be found at my delicious! Also, there's a surprising amount of good stuff over at the glam_kink meme. I like how kinky this fandom seems to be, and how, even if Adam isn't all that kinky in real life, he makes it easy to push him to that extreme in fiction.
That pretty much concludes this rec list. Hopefully I rambled enough-but-not-too-much for you. :) This was really a lot of fun, because I had an excuse to reread some really good fic. Especially in lotrips; I haven't read much in that fandom in a long time, so it was good to revisit. Oh, and if you have any other must-read BDSM fics, please link me to them! ETA (April 2011): This list, especially in Adam fandom, is not up to date at all.
