So, the head guy for the FRC tournament took me and my mom out to dinner and talked about the project he wants me to do, which is basically just filming a bunch of people and editing it together and it actually sounds even more fun than that. But it wasn't much that my mom hadn't already told me already, which was a bit of a let down. But the pizza was awesome, but I ate the whole thing, which wasn't quite as awesome.
Then we all headed over to... Bellevue HS or something, to their performing arts center, which was a bit crappy, but probably better than most. Before the meeting officially started, I wandered around backstage and into the control booth and omg I miss the theatre so much it hurts. Anyways, most of the meeting was kind of boring, because I already knew most everything from my mom. So I turned my attention to the guy who sat in front of me. And he needs a whole separate paragraph omg.
I actually kinda know this kid, I met him like, two years ago or something, but the last time I'd seen him, he was a bit goth and had black hair and cuffs and everything (and he pulled it off very well, I must say), but now he looks completely different and he's sandy-blonde-ish, which is I guess his natural colour. Anyway, he's really thin and kinda tall and sexy as fuck. I didn't even recognize him at first, though! He's also, apparently, a math GENIUS, like literally a genius, and he's going to my same community college for one of his morning math classes. What'd'ya know, I'm taking a daily math class too! Which means the same building, which means I bet we're actually going to see each other every now and then. And if I need math tutoring, omg I WANT HIM TO DO IT. It turns out, though, that he's a year YOUNGER than me! And what I really found fascinating about him: he's a ballroom dancer. *LOVE* I wanted to do ballroom dancing so bad last year, but now I don't have any time for it. :( But anyway, yes, he's a genius and he's hot and I spent the majority of the time tonight staring at him. (oh come on, it's not like I could help it: he was literally about six inches in front of my nose the whole time!)
Anyway, the part I enjoy about these meetings is the name dropping, seriously. I mean, seriously, where else can you get together a group of geeks that throw around the names of higher-ups in Boeing, Microsoft, Amazon.com, and a gazillion other places that I'm forgetting? They're trying to get Bill Gates and the governor to come as VIPs for the tournament! ftw, man. And the great part about it is that I'm right in there with the head honcho guys that are throwing out these names. FTW.
So, the first meeting thingy was apparently a success, and now I've got a bunch of lego kits to build obstacles out of for the FLL tournament, which is in Dec. All the FRC and FTC (which used to be called VEX) takes place next year, I think, but it's still technically "this season" if you know what I mean. Which you might or might not, because I don't think I even know what I mean. Now I'm just rambling. So, bed for me, because I'm exhausted.
