I live... but delicious does not

Sep 27, 2011 09:40

So I have been pretty dead fandomwise for the last two months. Mostly because I was accepted into a grad program at the very last minute (yay!) and have been since running around like a crazy person, trying to squeeze in time to read (for fun!) and sleep.

Which makes me really sad with the changes on delicious that I woke up to this morning.
Service has already been spotty for a few weeks, but while the new design may be "prettier," it has lost a lot of the functionality that I depended on.

It boils down to:
1. All tags with /, !, * or other special characters are now broken.
Since one of the first things I do every morning is check brendon/spencer, harvey/mike etc., you can imagine my sad, bleary-eyed face when the 404 page popped up.

2. Only 10 links per page.
They have got to be kidding me. If someone has 3872 bookmarks saved, that just isn't feasible.
I have no idea what they were thinking when they make 10 the default, but couldn't they have left the option to change it.

3. Loss of streamlined view.
I miss the options where you could choose the level of detail available on the list.

sigh. I really hope AVOS gets it together and stops trying to reinvent the wheel. I saw on their blog they were worried no-one would like them. Well, it helps when your product actually works...

Happier posts to follow now that I have a better grip on my schedule. Lots of bigbang stories to catch up on...
