Just got up from a self-forced afternoon nap of 1.5 hours. I don't normally take afternoon naps, but I've been groggy for the past 2 days and strongly suspect that I have yet to recover from the ordeal that was the night of 28 January, when I couldn't get to sleep at all thanks to a horde of mosquitoes that were buzzing around me. It got quite bad that the next morning (after getting up to go to church) I shut the windows and door of my room and gassed it with Baygon, before leaving for church.
I got 2 corpses out of it, and another night of terribleness. So much for that. There was another round of fogging early this week, though, and I suspect that took care of the most of them.
Since that past night, I took home the tube of SAF insect repellent I had left sitting in the office and apply it every now and then when the going gets bad. I have never come across insect repellent so potent - in both its intended effectiveness and potential side-effects. I was a little apprehensive of applying it direct to skin (which I'm sure most of the combat people would advise me against) but I was desperate for sleep since that night, and so I did and faced no problems. (I didn't apply to my face, though, since face skin tends to be more sensitive. I just applied a dollop to the T-shirt collar.)
Just yawned. Don't think I've recovered fully. Was thinking of making another cup of that Smoky Earl Grey but decided to make a cup of hot mocha to chill once it's cooled down.
Deadline is looming: 10 days. Ughhh this is more stressful than I thought it'd be. But I have to get out of here, and my motion is unwittingly fully supported, so out of this place I must go. Feels a bit like going to exile like Master Yoda. Hohoholol.
I know I haven't done a New Year's post up here, but then again I've never been in the habit of doing so. I did find my diary as well, and apart from the embarassment of entries written 4 years prior and before, the diary is in perfect condition. I'd used it during the trip to Malaysia, and might post some stuff up in a few days time.
Sleep-in-office duty on Tuesday. Hopefully I don't get any chills from it. Also need to stock up on Rhinityn and Chlorpheniramine maleate. If I've finished Draft 2 (I better) by then after the stupid calling stuff I can marathon the Madoka movies or Mai-HiME. Might order Mac's.
Also, Madoka movie 3 is coming across to be quite insanely mind-blowing, and I am simultaneously excited and worried about that. Only that there's nobody else to be "quidnunc" to about these things.
