Tao tries to patch up the scars that Kris leaves behind.
Small touches, gentle caressing, silent casual whispers as Kris hover around Chanyeol. That is all, but it is enough to drive Tao crazy. Watching Kris with Chanyeol pains him. It hurts because Tao know no matter how hard he tries Tao will always remain a little brother to him. Kris cares for him, he does, but not in the way that Tao wants him to.
Even their brotherly moments were gone, snatched away as someone else occupies Kris’ thoughts and actions instead. Kris drifts and Tao is unable to bring him back.
Chanyeol smiles, the edges of his eyes crinkling as he plays with fingers and reaches into an impenetrable place in Kris’ heart, a place that Tao wishes he could enter but can never do so. Kris looks at the other with a gaze that Tao always wishes is directed at him instead, and Tao feels the pain again. Chanyeol makes Kris happy. That fact alone should make him happy too. But it doesn’t. Tao is selfish. He cannot help it.
All Tao can do is just try to heal the dull ache in his heart that Kris have left behind and hope someday the cracks will be able to disappear. He doesn’t know how long it is going to take, but one day he is going to watch him with Chanyeol, and he will smile, for Kris, for Chanyeol. And for himself.

i just had a lot of feelings after looking a taoris gif set and a krisyeol gifset consecutively so this fic came to life.
taoris was my first exo ship and to be quite honest they got me into the fandom.
