The following is a short story, dedicated to my love, life and soul-mate,
ayashii_1 and follows the series of events leading up to my formal introduction to her tamed saber-cat, Trouble...
Trouble"No, no, no, Tacita," High Priestess Laurena shook her head at her pupil, who had come to her several months ago seeking to exchange wisdom with those whose

Falling into step, Trouble's gait was easy and rolling as Tommy held on, bouncing softly from side to side. A rather large grin was pasted upon his little face. It was clear he was having the time of his life. Feeling something tugging on her free hand, Tacita looked down to see the auburn-haired little girl had latched on her hand. Without pausing in her walk, the Priestess leaned over and scooped her up, carrying her balanced upon her hip.
With a shy giggle, the child whispered a bit loudly in Tacita's ear, "Guess what? My name is Katie Jane and are you two in love?" An innocent child's question. The wording made both Draenei smile at each other, for of course Ayashii had heard everything. A child's query, but so filled with meaning and honesty.
Beaming over at Tacita, Ayashii squeezed her hand before answering in the reply that echoed within both their hearts; "Forever and a day, little one."
"I hope I fall in love like you guys when I'm old enough," Katie Jane said with a sigh, "You two are sooo romantic."
"Blech! I want ice cream!" One of the little boys trailing behind piped up, "Enough of this sissy love stuff!"
Another little girl, a blonde with dirty pigtails and a scruffy-looking pinafore over a dress she obviously didn't enjoy wearing echoed his sentiments. Ayashii reached out and ruffled the tomboy's head affectionately as the girl skipped ahead of the group to pat Trouble on the side.
Laughing, Tacita and Ayashii did their best to assure them all that ice cream was soon to be had, if would just endure a short walk to the vendor that sells it.
As they walked, Ayashii observed her beloved and noticed that the more relaxed their little group became the more relaxed Tacita was around the large cat. It made her heart lighter to see her lifemate and her bond-beast slowly becoming used to each other. Soon, she hoped, Tacita and Trouble would even become friends.
It may have been easier had Tacita been called to be a huntreess...But, no. She stopped herself before that line of thought could even find a viable route. She loved Tacita for who and what she is, not for what she might have been had the stars been aligned differently on the day of her birth. Just as she knew Tacita felt the same about her.
"My love," Tacita interrupted her thoughts with her soft, nearly always far-away sounding, voice, "I would speak with you alone after the children are seen to."
It took Ayashii a moment to realize that Tacita was speaking not in the langauge of the humans, but in their native tongue, *Eredun. Understanding that she didn't want to force the children to feel left out of anything, Ayashii nodded once and brushed the side of her tail against Tacita's in the universal Draenei sign for agreement and acceptance.
(OOC stuff: I found out that the Draenei's native language was called Eredun.)
