I've never been, but that's what my dad was before he converted to the dark side (aka catholicism b/c of my mom)..... it seems like... the least offensive of them danged old churchy things. Considering I've only ever been to catholic services, I imagine it'd be quite different....
so when you say karaoke.... is that good or bad? or is it just yes. wish I couldve been there!!!
I'm not sure, now, if I'm going back or not-- but it was nice and non-judgemental, anyway. Unfortunately, as with most churches there were very, very few people under the age of 45. -_-
It was... actually, it was a lot of fun, the karaoke. I enjoyed it thoroughly. In terms of performance quality... variable. ;) We all really wished you could have been there, too! Hope you were feeling better posthaste.
ooh. I did forget about the age issue. there are a couple churches around charlotte that are supposedly geared toward younger people but I don't know anything about the dogma or anything. meh. it's difficult to be spiritual in a group of 50-somethings.
I am glad it was enjoyed! Of course your karaoke would have been wonderful. who else was there? Xina, I would imagine, but I've no idea what the quality wouldbe like.... ^^;;;
Heehee. Xina and Erin were there, and Myque and Renee of course, and another Mike, and Jason, and... Amber, and the girl whose name I always forget. (It isn't Nancy, is it?) And the songs were English, Korean, and Japanese, and the screen had crazy video on it all the time-- like, hula girls, and race cars, and Filipino or Polynesian dudes making scary faces on the beach...
d00d. good turnout then! I'm glad. whenever I think about karaoke I think about that scene from "lost in translation".... and I think it would be fun, if a little embarrassing.
I actually haven't seen "Lost in Translation," but I keep meaning to-- it looks like a really good movie. I think it's less embarrassing if it's all people you know-- we had our own little room, so it wasn't like us and a crowd of irritated Asian people. :)

For some reason I thought it was Tom Hanks, though. I think that speaks ill of me...
