Marriage is a religious institution.
Civil unions are a civil institution.
Any individual wishing to engage in a contract of codependency (Civil Union) may do so as long as they are of legal age and sound mind. This shall be legally recognized in any and all institutions and situations.
Marriage shall henceforth be recognized solely as a religious ceremony or rite and may accompany the signing of aforementioned contract of codependency if that is the wish of the signers.
