I am in the process of changing my major from Psychology to International Studies with a concentration in Social Science. My minors will be Public Administration and Philosophy and Religion.
Why the change?
Because I'm a shitty counselor. I don't have good advice for people. I'm excellent at analyzation, but useless when it comes to telling people how to actually get better. Or start getting better. People will tell me their problems, and I don't know what to say. I care very deeply about them, but I feel a blank look spread across my face every time they ask me for advice.
I want to travel. I want to learn languages. I'm more concerned about Darfur, Afghanistan, and North Korea than I am about anything psychology-related (except for mental illness). I'm an advocate, not a counselor.
