I am just in a GROWLY mood, thanks to my mother.
Yesterday mom called to let me know that she and dad were thinking about coming up to watch Chris's football game today. was supposed to e-mail her directions, but our access has been spotty- there is something wrong with our router, and Eric is in the process of figuring it out. So at 9am I called to give my dad directions.
And now- some backstory.
About 6-8 weeks ago, I was in FoSco and my niece was just hanging out. I asked if she wanted to go take some pictures, and she jumped at hte chance. Now, I know she LOVES doing this, and we had a lot of fun. But the next DAY I had a TON of stuff dumped on me at work- the projects were taking off, I had new responsibilities, and football started. Suddenly, I had NO personal time. Add to this the fact that th eboys are using my laptop (and loaded it up with shit that is slowing me down) and one of the results of htis is that my Raw conversion software wasn't opening. After abotu three weeks of trying, I managed to figure out the issue and get it taken care of. I edited the pictures. They're too big (SIL wants to print) to send to her hotmail account. So I burned them on a disc. Now, admittedly I forgot it when I went down two weeks ago... but what with trying to load the van, get the toddler corralled, and drive 2 hours to their house WHILE GETTING BACK FOR A 7pm DINNER MEETING is also in mind.. yeah, I forgot. But htese aren't FOR anything. Just for fun.
so today, as I'm talking to dad, I hear my mom say in a VERY snarky voice "Tell her to bring that disc, that little girl has waited way too long!".
I snapped. I fired back, "Well, people need to remember that I am, in effect, working FOUR JOBS and that I have NO free time. My time is spent working or running kids or at a practice. I have MONTHS of pictures of MY OWN CHILDREN that I haven't gotten to. But yes, I will bring the disc."
You know, if she were that concerned, wouldn't her MOTHER have e-mailed me, or mentioned it in one of the several e-mails I get a week from her?
It just pissed me off. It's also made me realize that maybe I need to STOP taking pictures of my family (besides *MY* family) for a while. I'm just too, too busy, and they- read, my mother- can't seem to get it. Whatever.
But Aimee Hottiecakes is on her way over and we're going hike at Burr Oak Woods and get our anger out. GROWL! And I will sing Happy Birthday to her on the trail ;)
