I've finally hit the part of Christmas that actually makes me truly feel like it's Christmas - the part where I'm wrapping presents, while mom's in the other room baking, there's Christmas music playing on the stereo, the dog is laying on the floor in the next room under the Christmas tree.
This is when I finally get into the Christmas spirit (truly). The shopping is (almost) done, and now it's just a matter of getting it ready for everyone.
I have a life size cardboard cut-out of Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow that is currently guarding my Christmas tree. It's quite funny really. We were joking about not getting a tree at all - just putting a Santa hat on him, stringing him up with some lights and putting him in the window, with the presents all around him. That would be just a little too absurd in a family that still has small children visit.
Work is nutty - to be expected.
