http://shiso.gooside.com/sengoku/c15.html It wasn't meant to happen. Surely it was not possible. Naoe Kanetsugu looked at his cup of sake, wondering what he should do. He didn't think it was possible. Not possible at all.
He wasn't sure how many cups he had drunk either. However, by Mitsunari's disguised expression earlier, he must have drunk a lot. Keiji had offered to join him, but he had refused. He couldn't really deal with Keiji's loudness right now.
Kanetsugu took another sip and poured himself another cup. It was quite indecent of him to be drinking like this, but he couldn't help it. He hoped he would not be seen in such a undigified manner.
As he refilled his cup, the shoji doors opened and he looked up, expecting the servants with more sake.
"Y-Yukimura?"
"Lord Mitsunari and Lord Keiji told me you would be in your rooms." Yukimura bowed and looked sheepish. "I was worried, so I came. They said you were acting odd?"
"Or behaving like a common drunk?" Kanetsugu asked. "One without honour or principles? As Mitsunari would say?"
Yukimura coloured as he closed the shoji doors behind him and stepped inside. "Lord Mitsunari means well, even if he doesn't express it well."
"Knowing him, that is impossible." Kanetsugu sighed. "There is not much in this world, he cares about except...." He paused, eying the other. " Come Yukimura, take a seat." He beckoned the taller male over.
"Lord Kanetsugu?"
"You might as well join me, Yukimura." Kanetsugu poured another cup and passed it to him.
They drank in silence. Kanetsugu had almost forgotten what a quiet person Yukimura was, so after a few minutes of silence he was slightly startled when Yukimura cleared his throat.
"L-Lord Kanetsugu? Is there something wrong?"
Kanetsugu stared at his cup. "What do you mean Yukimura?" He looked up to see the other staring at him concerned.
"You have been acting strange for the last few days, Lord Kanetsugu. Is it because of something or someone? I understand Lord Shingen's work is difficult...but you should not push yourself too hard."
Because of something? Or someone....? He took a deep breath.
"Yukimura, as odd as this would sound. I have to forgive my forwardness, but are you currently interested in someone at the moment?"
If Kanetsugu had been any other person or maybe Sakon but himself, he would have been delighted at Yukimura's expression. Who was drinking at the time, froze at the question, choked and started coughing.
"Yukimira, are you alright?" Kanetsugu leaned over, concerned.
Yukimura nodded, still coughing. When he stopped, his eyes were red and he looked flushed.
"I beg your forgiveness for my behaviour," He coughed again, tears appearing at the corner of his eyes. "I...I do not understand what you are saying Lord Kanetsugu. Interested in someone?" He looked confused. "Like bonds of friendship?"
"Slightly closer Yukimura." Kanetsugu couldn't help but colour as he replied. "When you are interested in someone, you wish to be within their presence. You w-wish to know more about them."
Are you talking about yourself? A small corner of his mind sneered. No! He replied desperately. Of course not. Of course not.
Yukimura looked troubled as he picked up his cup. Looked at it and placed it down. "I d-don't understand. It sounds like brotherhood, but you seem to be suggesting something more than that?"
Kanetsugu bit back a smile at Yukimura's innocence, he understood why Mitsunari would be frustrated. However it was slightly endearing, even if it made him a more likely target to Sakon's teasing.
"As I was saying, if you were interested in someone," Kanetsugu paused, noting Yukimura's present expression. "Interested as a man to a woman, so he courts her, in hopes of understanding her." He noted Yukimura's expression dawn to understanding. "Do you have someone like that Yukimura?"
"N-No." Yukimura flushed. "No, I don't Lord Kanetsugu." He looked down again before sneaking a glance at him. "Lord Kanetsugu, are you saying you have an interest in someone?"
"O-Of course not," Kanetsugu sputtered.
Liar. His mind whispered.
Kanetsugu took another sip and studied the cup, ignoring his traitorous mind. He heard Yukimura move to refill his cup and he moved his head slightly to show his thanks.
"I see, then what is troubling you?" Yukimura asked after a few moments silence. "Is Lord Masamune bothering you?"
Kanetsugu choked and turned to the other male, shocked. He met Yukimura's puzzled expression, he hoped Yukimura hadn't realised the reason why for his shock.
"W-What?"
Yukimura leaned back on his hands, a thoughtful look replacing his puzzled expression. "You seem strange around Lord Masamune, I am not sure if it is a recent thing." He paused. "I asked Lord Mitsunari and Lord Sakon about it. Sakon laughed at me. I'm not sure why." He sounded confused.
"R-Really?" Kanetsugu said, hoping Yukimura wouldn't reach to the conclusion that it was Masamume Date's presence which made him unsettled of late. Which wasn't of course. Even if his mind kept insisting it was.
Yukimura nodded, turning to look at him. He reached for his cup, took a sip and placed it back on the table.
"He wouldn't tell me, regardless how much I asked. I think they know something I don't." He pouted. "I mean, then Lord Mitsunari even said something odd about you."
"Mitsunari d-did? What did he say?" Kanetsugu asked hesitantly.
"He mentioned something about..." Yukimura coloured, not looking at him. "How you were interested in Lord Masamume and it was possible that you liked him more than it was necessary. I tried stopping them, but then Lord Sakon joined the conversation."
"N-No, that's not true." Kanetsugu sputtered. "Where did Mitsunari get those ideas?"
"I am not sure. Something about you and Lord Masamume spending time together as of late...?"
"T-That doesn't mean anything." Kanetsugu almost flailed. "Spending time with one another doesn't suggest that one is interested. It would be breach of honour to claim that spending time with one another is similar as a man to a woman..."
"I don't understand what you are talking about, Lord Kanetsugu..."
"Took you long enough to figure it out?" A familiar voice drawled.
Kanetsugu froze, his fingers still clasped on the cup, he tighten his grip not realising the pain. He felt slight movement from Yukimura as he stood up and bowed.
"Lord Masamume, it's a surprise to see you."
He felt Masamume's eye linger on him as he stepped inside the room. "Yukimura," He acknowledged before disregarding him. "If you don't mind? I would like to talk to Kanetsugu. Alone."
"Eh?" Ah, but..."
Kanetsugu bit back a sigh and looked at his friend. "Yukimura, I will be fine."
Yukimura looked worried, shooting a quick glance at the smirking male before turning back to him. "Are you sure Lord Kanetsugu? Will you be all right?"
"I will be fine," He reassured his worried friend.
"Really?" Yukimura sounded doubtful.
Masamume sighed impatiently. "Yes, Yes. Are you deaf? Kanetsugu said he will be fine."
Yukimura reluctantly got up. "I don't wish leaving such a friend in the company of you, Lord Masamune. I apologise for my rudeness, but one cannot overlook your character."
"Yukimura..." He was relived at his friend's protectiveness, however at the same time he was also embarrassed. Surely his friends did not think so low of him? Surely he could defend himself, if something were to happen.
"You heard Kanetsugu, he wants you to go." Masamune smirked.
Yukimura bowed stiffly and moved to the doors, before he left he turned and glared at them.
"Lord Masamume, if you hurt Lord Kanetsugu. Be assured, I will not hesitate to kill you the next time I see you."
"Against guns?" Masamume snorted. "I like to see you try."
"You should not relay on Western machinery so much Lord Masamume, they won't last long." Yukimura disappeared, closing the shoji doors behind him.
The moment the doors closed, Kanetsugu stared at his hands suddenly nervous. He hoped that Masamume hadn't overhead their whole conversation.
"Do you want some sake, I mean tea?" He asked, hoping to ease the uncomfortable silence.
"Sake." Masamume sat down beside him, watching him pour the sake into a fresh cup. "You been avoiding me, haven't you Kanetsugu?"
"N-No of course not Lord Masamume," Kanetsugu passed him the cup and moved slightly away. He wasn't sure why, but he was feeling nervous, more nervous than usual. He wasn't sure if it was because of the presence of the other male or presence of someone other than Yukimura, Sakon, Mitsunari and Keiji. "I have been busy of late."
"Oh really? Weren't you supposed to be lecturing me about honour and my failures as a man?" Masamume took a sip, placed it on the table and noticed the sudden distance. "Are you moving away from me?"
"N-No Lord Masamume," Kanetsugu replied, trying to be calm. "I thought you were annoyed by my constant reminders. After all, weren't you complaining that your dreams were filled with honour? Which you then blamed me?" Kanetsugu took a deep breath. Yes, keep talking with a subject that you're familiar with. With that, he might not notice.
"Even if I did, you would still rant on and on," Masamume snorted, turning and giving him a sideways glance. "I must admit I do miss it, I am even surprised that my dreams aren't affected anymore."
"If you would like, I would be glad to lecture on the principles of honour and friendship, Lord Masamume. You do remember that justice, honour, love and friendship are some of the qualities which make one a man. One cannot grow to be a leader without such qualities, Lord Masamume. As I had reminded you time and time again, a country ruled by an honourable leader would be a blessing to it's peop- Lord Masamune?" Kanetsugu suddenly realised that Masamune had managed to move closer and closer to him, throughout his tirade.
"Kanetsugu,"
"Y-Yes Lord Masamume?"
"Do you like me?" Mamasume eyed him with one hazel eye, a smirk hovering on the corners of his mouth.
"W-What are you talking about Lord Masamume?" Kanetsugu slowly moved backwards, looking for a chance to escape as Masamume moved closer. "I would think it is quite indecent to be teasing someone like this. Have you have no shame Lord Masamume?"
"Oh?" Kanetsugu felt the wall hit his back and he looked to the ground, hoping Masamume would leave. "Look at me," A hand snaked out and grasped his chin forcing him to look up.
"L-Lord Masamume?"
"Shame? What shame?" Masamume moved closer, crawling between his knees, without removing his grip. "There is no shame in cornering such a cute game."
"L-Lord Masamume..."
"Kanetsugu, do you like me?" Masamume suddenly asked, the smirk still lurking at the edges of his mouth as if he was humouring a child.
"N-No Lord M-mmmp" The rest of the words were cut off as Masamume leaned in and claimed his lips.
Kanetsugu froze as Masamume pressed closer, his lips forcing his to open, allowing the other's tongue to slip through. He wasn't sure where the other had learnt to kiss, he had his own share of kisses, but never like this. It was quite indecent, when he thought of it, or at least tried to think of it. It didn't helped when his mind seemed to be in a hazy and it his body just eager to submit.
He felt himself growing red, as Masamume pulled back with a satisfied smile, licking his lips.
"I think that answers everything." Kanetsugu wondered if he couldn't be more embarrassed when he noticed that he had one hand grasped Masamume's shoulder. He was about to remove it when Masamume grabbed his hand. "I think you need to tell me something Kanetsugu...." He leaned in closer. "Do you like me?"
"N-no, I mean y-yes." Kanetsugu felt his face grow hot.
Masamume smiled. "Very good, you are learning. You're not an idiot for nothing..." Before Kanetsugu could reply, he found himself kissed again.
Some bits of the drunk!Quan and Zhou Tai
"Yu~," He turned to see Sun Ce poke his head in the doorway, a pitcher of wine in one hand and cups in the other.
"What is Ce?" Zhou Yu stopped playing and bit back a sigh. There went his chance to play some music before he went to bed.
"Have you seen Quan?" Ce walked over to him, sitting down and placing the wine and cups beside him.
Zhou eyed the wine before replying. "No, I haven't. May I ask why you are carrying wine around?"
"Quan and I were meant to be drinking together, " Ce rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "I checked his quarters and he's not there. I even checked Zhou Tai's room to be sure, but he isn't there either."
"Was General Zhou there?" Zhou asked dryly.
"No, funny enough." Ce said confused. "So, since I couldn't find Quan. I thought I would look for you instead." He reached for the pitcher and poured some wine. "Who else, would be awake still?" He handed him the cup.
"I'm sure Lord Quan is pleased for your concern." Zhou said dryly, accepting the cup. "Why I'm accepting, I don't know why."
"We're sworn brothers aren't we?" Ce replied, taking a sip. "Yu, don't worry so much. After all, I think Zhou Tai won't let anything happen to Quan. He barely leaves his side." He poured some more. "Drink up, drink up."
"That is if they're together right now."
