Damn Yankees- It sneaks up on you.
This past Sunday, the family and I went to the local independent movie theatre. They were playing Hors de Prix, starring Audrey Tautou (one of my favourite French actresses), a contemporary flick about a gold-digger who falls eventually falls in love with someone she mistakes for a millionaire.
Anyway, towards the end the characters find themselves at a party, and of course there is a lot of background music. Then.. BAM! "Whatever Lola Wants" from Damn Yankees is playing. Why some independent French filmmakers decided to use an American Broadway showtune is beyond me, but I started laughing hysterically in the middle of a very serious scene. I can't help but wonder what the other people in the theatre thought of me.
