Back!
Beltaine was great! It was our covens very first Maypole!!! The funny thing was (well, one of the funny things, there were several), because it had been raining for two days straight, and was in fact still raining, we had to do it inside. No problem. Except the Malepole was about 6" too tall! No hacksaw, no nothing. Finally we got it down to size. (Yes, Wicca is a fertility religion. The Maypole is a phallic symbol. We circumsized it! LOL. Sorry, I thought that was hilarious!). Then, since we needed to put it up inside, we had to figure out a way to get it to stand up. (Viagra, anyone? ::chuckle::) So we'd bought a bunch of marbles and put it in an old bucket. There weren't enough marbles. Okay, so . . . we went out into the rain and collected a ton of gravel. People think we're even nuttier than they did before hand!! :-)
Seriously, though. The ritual was beautiful and the Maypole came out gorgeous! The practice runs really paid off! The dance isn't terribly complex, but it can get really confusing!
Also! Shadow's Lift is SO done!! Well, the first draft, but hey! I had to get up early on Beltaine to finish it, but it's done!
