The movie plays
they gather in bed
hold her hand and kiss her head
she'll wrap her arms around you
he'll mimic the motions
when credits roll they couldn't tell you who killed whom, and where he stashed the bodies
darkness ensues and quiet lingers
while the glow of the television is snuffed
where is the innocence?
The music starts
she'll turn out the lights
take off your jacket and freeze in the night
you know only a body can warm you
and quiet your chills
This is the best part
lyrical poetry at its finest
but they'll miss it somehow
where is the innocence?
Now there's no distraction
just a lover-interaction
where fate lies and sparkling eyes
glow even when you can't see a thing
but the distance between you
more possesions on the floor now
nothing is left to the imagination
don't take away anything you can't give her back
because you know she'd do anything for you
don't take away anything you can't give her back
where is the innocence?
show her that you really love her
don't lose the innocence.
