So Cam and Leah were in town and we had a lovely time. Sunday was spent in Portland at Powell's, Buffalo, the Art Museum, then some Thai, a movie, then us ladies went out to The E Room, the lesbian bar in Portland. We watched some L Word, and listened to karaoke. It was glorious. I also completely quit and cut all ties with the crazy nanny family. I agreed to pick up and take the kids to school and back from daycare but the mom was crazy and suddenly on Sunday didn't have it covered anymore and kept asking me to do early mornings and late nights and I finally told her I was completely done with it and surely she's pissed, but I'm looking out for me. It really isn't worth the extra 5 bucks a day, seriously.
A couple people have asked about my running stuff and here's how it works: Vancouver Fit is a 6 month program that's catered to getting participants ready and able to run and/or walk a marathon (26.2 miles). So every Sunday we meet up down at Beaches along the waterfront and do a group run/walk in terms of mileage(you go your own pace but are split into pace groups), then you have training days during the week that are based on time (20 mins, 40 mins, ect.). So for this first week the Sunday was 3 miles, then I have a couple 20 minutes day things. It slowly progresses to more mileage and more training times as the months go on so you are able to maintain a pace during the marathon. As for me, I am on a Hood2Coast team (relay team that goes from Mt. Hood to Seaside Friday-Saturday) and am getting prepared to be able to withstand not only running up to 7 miles in a row, but each team member runs 3 different legs. So I think my total miles for the weekend combined will be somewhere along 13 miles or so. By the time H2C is going on, I will be upwards in mileage for Vancouver Fit and also since H2C is late August and the Portland marathon is usually early October, I will quite possibly just stick to it and go for it all.
I'm terrified, but stoked. I actually wasn't able to finish my 3 miler this Sunday because it was crazy cold and my bronchitis crap starting flaring up so the coaches decided to have me not complete it, and walk/run with the walking group on Sundays for a few weeks until I have all the sin out of my bronchial stuff.
That's my latest adventure! So on top of getting fit, I'm also taking charge of my (horrible) eating habits which is a nice feeling. I hate feeling so bogged down and tired. It's not so much about weight as realizing that at 21, I'm horribly out of shape and eat like crap and really don't need to be.
So a run, some salmon dinner, then ATS show tonight!
