SQUEE!!!!! (or capslock cannot contain my fangirly joy)harmony_bitesJanuary 28 2008, 18:17:30 UTC
I LOVE THIS. You pushed all my little squiggly fangirl buttons I can't help but feel this was for ME ME ME!!
First:
His eyes grew widen in a face still gaunt from long months of illness, and she felt the sudden urge to pull him in for a hug-he still wasn’t far enough from his deathbed for her to stop panicking every time he lost his breath.
*sniff* I have a weakness for this sort of thing, really--for a Hermione who cares for the poor guy...
After that, there were only snippets: brushing the eyes of little Dennis Creevey closed with her fingertips, watching to horrified expression on Molly Weasley’s face as Fred’s body was recovered from the wreckage, vomiting up her first meal in two days because she didn’t fully believe that the chicken breast wasn’t human…
and *that* conveys the horror of the aftermath better than many, many a fic I've read. Or JKR for that matter.
Luna followed closely with Sentient Scrabble (now includes automatic spell-check!) tucked under her arm.
This was a wonderful piece of writing, dear! They were weeks I didn't read a Snape/Hermione, and I'll never thank you enough for this awesome fic! It made me remember why I love this pairing so much ;)
And I actually lost interest in the pairing for a while, too, so I know what that's like. I'm glad to have written something that reminded you of why you liked it.
I loved this. Unequivocally. Every word of it. The moment I read the line, "he still wasn’t far enough from his deathbed for her to stop panicking every time he lost his breath," I loved it.

Coming soon to your local branch of WWW!
I love my gift--this isn't a ficlet--it's a short story.
I did warn you about my verbosity.
And thank you for liking it. :)

Loved. Because this is the kind of fic I read fanfic for--that has me smiling, has me moved, has me lingering over lines worth savoring.
So love.
And I'm not exactly complaining about length--more to love.
