Things
Today was awesome. Let me tell you why.
1) I am officially a research assistant. Which means I get to be paid for doing fun things with literature in an area that interests me. I haven't stopped vibrating with excitement all day.
2) Today was my third day in a row of yoga, and the first day that I managed to do both sets of each pose. I also didn't want to die of the heat nearly as much. Or nearly pass out.
3) On the way home from yoga, I hopped on a bus that I don't usually take and found myself, alone and bewildered, in the sketchy area of downtown. To ward off the chill and the junkies, I composed a short poem:
Hello, night air,
Hello, moon,
Hello, crack-pipe,
Hello, spoon*.
I feel like I have a long and illustrious career ahead of me in classic picture books. If anyone is interested in illustrating them, do let me know.
I had a long writing/reading/gender-y post planned, but I am too sleepy for it right now and won't be able to make sense of my deeply tangled thoughts, so I won't ask you to do it for me. Yet.
