Bleach Fanfic.

Oh, boy. You know, of all the Bleach characters, Mayuri is the last one I would ever expect someone to write a Mary-Sue OC for. And this is coming from someone who adores the crazy bastard.

After the explosive force cleared, Mayuri rushed to Shirahime’s side. Even though Shirahime’s zanpaku-tos had been taken from her, just as Mayuri’s had, she could still summon the bankai of Yukihime. After all, she was Yukihime. Mayuri cradled Shirahime in his arms, tears forming at last. He had never cried before.

*snort* Now, I apologize if the author ever sees this, but the entire 'Shirahime Thorne' series - what's with that name?? - makes me twitch.

There are more, though.

Manami Takahashi, the 4th seat of the 5th division is sweet as pie. And psychic. When her world is turned upside down she finds herself in an interesting situation with the sick minded scientist, Captain Kurotsuchi. KurotsuchiXOC! Lemons later...

Psychic, you say? Shouldn't she see it coming, then, and run for the hills? Also, this one seems to be a hit with all the shinigami, including going on dates with Ukitake. (Really, you go on dates with Ukitake, but then midway decide that Mayuri is a much better prize? Are you mad?)

This one includes an OC Captain who is romancing Zaraki, and an OC - with the habit of sleeping around - who will end up romancing Byakuya. (Byakuya is, incidentally, also the name the main OC uses when addressing him. *bitchslaps*)

God, I love this crazy fandom.

Bleach Movie.

Just some short comments and things I noticed.

First of all, there wasn't enough Kenpachi. (There never is, though.) I loved his little altercation with Mayuri, obviously, as those two together are always hilarious. His comment about Mayuri finally losing all his marbles had me snickering, though at the same time I wondered if Mayuri ever had said marbles to begin with. Kenpachi getting buried under the...goo was a cop-out, though. Much like the 'well, he's off somewhere...' deal with the current filler. *sigh* So annoying.

The scenes with Mayuri were awesome, though, and really telling. His panic and subsequent fear of being captured again shows just how scared he truly was of being locked up. Though he appeared pretty calm in prison, this shows that he must have really hated and feared it. The whole sequence both entertained and saddened me. I mean, it was rather amusing seeing the usually composed and sarcastic Mayuri in such disarray, but the reason for it... Poor guy. Just makes me wonder what they locked him up for, since it can't have been an actual crime. They locked people up out of prevention, after all. So, just the thoughts he had? Of experiments and such? (Which makes one wonder what made him so very different from Urahara that Mayuri was locked up but Kisuke wasn't?)

That scene was also very telling about Mayuri and Nemu's relationship, to me. I'd always seen Nemu as listening to whatever Mayuri said and not doing anything to go against him, but in these scenes she showed that her inhuman brain has the capacity to realize when she needs to go against his orders. For example, her jumping forward and trying to keep him from smashing his equipment. While that's something no one would expect Mayuri to want, I'd never thought she would try to stop him from doing it. I always figured she'd let him do whatever he wanted, even if it was something he wouldn't usually want to do.

Maybe all of that is only interesting to me, but...yeah.

Hmm, also, related to Nemu, if Kon - as an artificial soul - could remember Rukia, then shouldn't Nemu - seeing as she's pretty much an artificial soul herself - be able to remember her as well?

The Urahara/Mayuri bits had me all giddy, because those two are just awesome together. Especially because Urahara seemed to know Mayuri so well that he could guess what he'd done. (And Mayuri remembering Urahara, of course. Though this leads to the question why he remembered that in particular. It couldn't be because he'd saved just that particular memory, because what a sucky scientist he would be if he only duplicated the memories of before his time as leader of the 12th? Did the bad guys just have sucky aim and forget about that particular bit?Did I miss something in the movie that explained it? XD)

The whole Rukia/Renji/Byakuya/Ichigo business was amusing enough, but I'm not into Rukia and Ichigo enough to really go in depth about it all. Byakuya and Hisane's bit was lovely, though, and Byakuya is awesome as always. Renji showed what a hothead he is - heh - and is just awesome. As did the others.

The huge fight was very cool, especially with Shunsui and Ukitake joining in. (And joining in together in flashy fashion.) Though why Soifon - or Soi Fon, whatever you prefer - didn't simply use her shikai to kill the big, giant beast is beyond me. She didn't even unsheathe her zanpakutou! I suppose since he was made of...energy, or whatever it was, that might not have worked, but still...

Zaraki's return is always great. He has some of the best entrances out of all of them and never stops being badass. Yachiru sitting on his shoulder and sharing his grin was just icing on the cake. Those two could make any movie great and I wished I could have seen it on the big screen. I can just imagine cheering when he broke free. (Though, wtf, a knock on the head was all it took for him to break free? Weren't they petrified, sortof? How could a knock on the head dislodge something that's pretty much stone and stuck to his face?)(I'm thinking too much about this, aren't I?)

Aaaanyway, long story short, I liked the movie. I don't expect too much from them, usually, so I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of things I enjoyed. Awesome amounts of Mayuri, Byakuya, and other favourites of mine, and Kenpachi being badass. That's all I need, really. XD
