Please, to some any of my Japanese chinese! speaking flisters, what's going on here? They have a couple of my icons posted there - hotlinked, too, which annoys me somewhat - along with a lot of other people's. Now, I don't ask for credit, so I don't mind that, but I'm just curious what the deal is, since they have so many. Is it a post pointing out ( Read more... )

That's not Japanese, that's Chinese! So I can't help you out there unfortunately XD

More likely than not it's just a post sharing graphics they found on the internet and liked, judging from some the kanji I recognize and assuming they have about the same meaning in Chinese XD

I suppose it's a compliment, then, though them hotlinking does piss me off slightly. Luckily I've yet to run out of bandwidth, but still... Also, I doubt every artist there has given permission for their icons to be posted without credit, but...meh.

*is going to bed* Knowing what time it is there...what are you still doing up? ^^ *curious*

That has to be upsetting... But most likely nikki_aino is right.

It's not so much upsetting to me as it would be for other artists, I think, since I don't ask credit for my work. However, worse would be if the person claimed them as their own, which I don't think is the case here.

I'm just curious what it's about and wished I had a Chinese speaker who could leave a note for them.

Have you tried running any text through an online translator? It may not come out word perfect but it may give you an idea of what is being said.

I did try that. Various sites, even babblefish. XD However what I get doesn't make much sense to me, heh, so I was hoping for someone who could speak the language. Right now we can only guess.

Stumbled upon this. I can help you out.

The forum post title heading reads: "[慎入]內有死神icon★新增大量異聞篇gif icon 白一護 斬月大叔 風死 etc★留名幫你地搵". Translated it just means: "random Bleach icons & newer GIF icons of Espadas, Shinigami for your viewing".

The different bunches of icons are just updates to the older post.

The large red letters at the end of the post read "內有所有異聞篇斬魄刀人物(附名稱) 18p 想要就禁推薦同回post吧". The guy is simply asking others to post, in reply to his, pictures of the Zanpakutos from the anime.

I think it's quite impossible to stop plagiarism on sites such as these. But the guy who is posting is not crediting them as his own, & later posts in the thread from other users don't acknowledge him as the creator either.

It'll really depend on how you view this. Stealing bandwidth is unjustifiable. You could change & re-upload your icons. (But it's clear this guy is probably on LJ also constantly looking for pics).

But you can feel flattered that your work is reaching a much larger base of Bleach fans.

Wow, thank you! I really was curious and you helped me out greatly here. ;)

Oh, I doubt we could stop what is going on there - heck, I don't ask for credit, so I don't much care other than the hotlinking - but I came across it and it made me wonder, seeing as I recognize so many of the icons. (Mine and other people's.) Though some people might be interested in knowing about it, seeing as they're much stricter about the whole 'credit' deal.
