I've been trying to post something about MFF since I got home on Monday but every time I started to write something I was interrupted.
MFF in brief for me -
I WAS A BLAST! I spent most of the weekend involved with the Puppet Track. I was a member of the PawPet 101 panel and was able to contribute, hopefully, helpful information and advice to those interested in puppeteering. I got to participate in the FVS and Holiday puppet show. It was a LOT of fun to perform with
wildfox,
babsbunny,
butterscotchvix, Treads Lightly, Akeakami, Santa Fox, Shockwave, and
lowen_kind.
I performed in PawPet Idol II in the Master Category this year. I won PawPet Idol last year in the Novice category so Wildfox told me I had to compete at Master level because he'd like to keep the Novice level open for those just starting out.
Well, I wrote a skit called "A Border Collie's Holiday" which basically told a story about my Border Collie puppet Laddy's trip to Scotland and the telling of an old family story (The Scotsman song). The entire skit, including the song was just me; no "PawPet Karaoke" with the music. (Those who attended the
WPAFW saw a preview of this skit.) Well - I WON!!! The skit was much improved over it's initial run a WPAFW.
(Now, if I can just figure out what I'm NOT doing a Morphicon when I perform in their puppeteering contest. Swift and I perform at the same level there so we're considering a duet act for that competition.)
The entire ride home
swift_fox and I were wondering if Wild would let me compete next year or if he'd make me a judge.
I had a few new badges made. I believe Swift was scanning them so I should have them to show in the near future. I also won quite a few pieces of art in the art show.
Unfortunately I didn't get to take a lot of pictures. I'll need to get them uploaded.
That's about it for my weekend at MFF. I'm looking forward to next year and the new location - the Westin Hotel in Wheeling, IL.
