I made
candied orange peels tonight. They turned out okay for a first attempt, although I think I should have blanched them one more time, because they have a bite to them like eating fresh ginger or orange zest straight up. Okay, they have a bitter aftertaste. But they are very pretty and tasty, in their way. I also got a jar of orange-infused simple syrup out of the deal.
Tomorrow, I'm going to attempt candied ginger.
