Things Get Better All The Time...
Just for clarification, the first 2 days were the worst for what we call "Mouser". I think he was so emaciated when we got him home he did nothing but drink a bit of water and about what was no more than a mouthful of food. We still continue with the doctoring of his wound from the pellet gun.
We can't determine if it is still is in there but it was certainly septic when we first started on it and it is almost gone now thank god. He still puts up a fight and I can tell you this. He is getting much better at it even though it has been only 3 days now.
Further upon a bit more looking he seemed to be very tender around his mid section. The only thing that we can think of is that someone kicked him in the side at some point in time. I hate when I hear or think of cruelty to animals!
2nd Day, he got a bit better, started to walk around, checking out his new "Territory", and definitely get into the whole feeding thing a bit more. I actually had to fill the small Tupperware bowl twice yesterday.
Just for the sake of it I did the "shake the bag" thing so it would condition him to come when I put food in his bowl. Needless to day he figured that one out right away. Now I have moved him up to larger bowls
Today, he is finally starting to fill out a bit more, the infection is almost contained in his side and thank God he is starting to play like a cat rather than a rug. He actually got up and chased after some of the cheap toys that we bought.
He doesn't really want you to know that he is too grateful I believe, He still has that "I Don't Care Because I am A Cat" thing going on... But I can tell you this. He has not stopped purring not even once since he has got here.
Don't worry, pic's will be on the way once he seems to be feeling a bit better and fills back in a bit more.
Sometimes it is the little things that we take for granted in life that mean the most don't you agree?
I wish the best to all,
