forecasts

Most of last week we had weather forecasts that said we would have high winds and low temperatures, plus heavy rain. Strangely, everything seemed to by-pass Dunedin, so North Otago had terrible weather as did much of the rest of the country. Now the forecast is for dropping temperatures and even snow down to sea level. So from promises of summer to warnings of a return to winter.

The little fellow slept well last night. Just once through the book of nursery rhymes and he seemed to enjoy it as always. He woke a few times during the night, cried, twitched and then back to sleep. So he disturbs my sleep, but not nearly as bad as things were before. Plus the night on/night off means I should get a good sleep the night he is with her.
Strange, isn't it, that the best solution to his sleeping problems was to separate.
He is now playing with a colander. Who needs toys?

A strange week ahead; senior exams week. So I lose quite a few classes as they will be doing mock exams. Despite my best efforts, I have not been able to get the students as a whole to do nearly as much revision as I would like them to do. It often feels like I lead the horse to water, splash it around and say, 'drink', but no interest. Soon they will be in an exam wondering what to write, and wishing they had drunk from the well of knowledge. Anyway, mock exams, so good practice for the real ones.
