Summary: It's a competition they both will never win.
For months he had suppressed these feelings. These feelings of wanting to hug, wanting to kiss, wanting to be near him. He had been a jerk, a coward, a well-known nobody. For months they hadn't talked, hadn't sit together, hadn't even looked at each other. For months they had acted as if it was the most normal thing to ignore each other.
And now, one year later, they had realized that everything they had done until now was to get the others attention. One piece of recognition would have been enough, to talk once more, to look once more. If it hadn't been for a festival they wouldn't be lying in each others arms now, wanting each other more than ever and laughing at how stupid they had been to think they could go on without the other.

Their schedule is tight, Donghae knows well enough. None of the members have time for anything private, it's tiring and nerve wrecking but Donghae just can't stop spacing out in public. Whenever they perform, whenever they have an interview he's in his own little world filled with thoughts of his family.
Hyukjae reminds him oft enough to control himself, he knows how hard it has been on Donghae lately but they are in public and unfortunately they have to be professional: smile, laugh and be flawless. But on a day like this, when Donghae would like to be anywhere but not on a stage, he thinks it is okay to not smile as long as the camera doesn't catch him staring, spacing out or looking extremely tired.
When they are backstage Hyukjae hugs Donghae, whispering that he has done well enough and that he should try to get some rest when they are back. Hyukjae feels a light pressure when Donghae hugs him a little tighter and cries his heart out. The sight is heartbreaking and Hyukjae doesn't say much besides your father is surely proud of you.

Summary: Donghae never does something without putting deeper thoughts into it.
It is extremely cold and Hyukjae cannot understand why Donghae has to drag him out on a winter day to show him his newest creation. He has better things to do, watch TV for example or sleep. But Donghae doesn't accept any discussion and before realizing Hyukjae is outside already, standing in the cold in a thin shirt, snow falling onto him and melting in an instant. He shivers a little noticeably annoyed by Donghae and his newest creation.
Donghae leads him a little further into the backyard and Hyukjae is surprised to see a flower made out of snow. Not fully understanding what is going on he asks Donghae if he can go back in again. It's my sign of love Donghae says nonchalantly. His lover laughs a little and tells him that it will melt when the sun comes out anyway and that the 'Snow Flower' (Donghae had called it like that) will vanish.
His boyfriend tells him no. He explains the process of how the snow melts and turns into water, how the water evaporates through the sun and heat and how clouds come into existence. Donghae talks about condensation and mentions another few words Hyukjae hadn't heard of since his school years. Our love will never die out! Donghae explains and Hyukjae is amazed by the thoughts his boyfriend has put into such a simple act. He pecks him on his lips and drags him back into the cozy house, telling Donghae that he has to make up for letting him freeze to death with a playful grin gracing his lips. Donghae knows well enough to not say no.

It's the cold wind swirling around his body which made him realize that somebody was missing beside him. Leeteuk stood up and gazed out of the window. He missed Kangin, the silent support he would give him whenever he was nervous, the comforting hugs he would receive whenever he was tired out, those stupid pranks he pulled on Eunhyuk, his smile which spoke for itself and his way to show his love (or strength) through violence. He unknowingly smiled thinking about Kangin.
It was unfortunate, the accident of Kangin. It was one of those days he had been out drinking to forget about the constant pain of being an idol. Leeteuk remembered newspapers being all over the issue. It was scary, how he had no chance to protect Kangin. He didn't know how to respond in interviews, he never knew how to explain that it had been an accident that wasn't going to happen again. Joining the army was Kangin's punishment to reflect on what he had done but that didn't fully solve the problem. Everybody started to judge Kangin, talking about him being an alcoholic and being careless. Leeteuk sat down on his bed wrapping his blanket around himself. He missed Kangin especially at this time of the hour when Kangin would usually tell him to go back to sleep and that everything would be fine. One year and he would finally be back again.
