Oh I'm totally with you on being completely disgusted and burned out on Christmas already. It's to the point where I'm going to be a shut-in by the start of December... and that's with us having a kid (which tends to force the "family tradition" part of Yule).

I have a couple of artists/crafters I follow who do holiday work and they all seem to manage to live in this fantasy land where "Christmas" isn't what it is, but what they want it to be. So one of them is living in perpetual Norman Rockwell Christmas. Another does Existential Angst winter (finding light in the darkness). In another vision we all live in New York City and have Sparkly! Urban! Christmas! I mean, with some of these folks, their desperate longing to be in that place is almost palpable through their work -- which helps put you in that place as well.

Maybe you could create your own personal holiday fantasy that you can escape to. Yule in the Hollow Hill? The Hunt for the White Stag? Calling back the Light? And then your work can put you there, instead of Plastic! Corporate! Shopmas! In fact, I think I'm going to create my own Yule fantasy land and immediately go live there until January 2nd.
