BPAL Stuffs
The meet and sniff last night was lovely and well-attended. Lots of delish yummies-- potstickers, cupcakes, cookies, coffee, tea, hummus, guac, cheese. YUM.
Got to smell lots of scents and recent LE's I'd passed on, including the ones that people went total gaga over that mostly, I was like... um. Like really-- Glowing Vulva? (For the uninitiated, BPAL has done two lines based on famous Japanese shunga paintings.) It was straight up Milk Moon. I dunno, it just wasn't my thing.
Traded for an imp of The Girl to skin test. In the vial, it's a pleasant enough jasmine vanilla. Sniffed Boomslang, which is the first and only cocoa perfume that didn't make me blech. Traded for more Aglaea, which I was gonna reorder anyhow. Traded for El Dorado, which is a lovely resinous copal with a little bit of a masculine edge-- it smells great on me and I bet it'll smell even more fantastic on J. Hmmm, what else? The Light of Men's Lives is lovely, glowing, creamy beeswax and might merit having some.
