He asked if Olive's nickname, "Bean," might be unintentionally derogatory because she's from New Mexico. We do tend to call her "Beaner" a lot.
On one hand, I laughed my ass off because we're talking about a freaking cat, but on the other hand I was kinda proud of him for thinking about that. I certainly hadn't put those two things together. I just figured that all firstborns, fuzzy or otherwise, were supposed to be nicknamed Bean. A family trait.
