I had a good day

Washed all my bedsheets and comforters, so those are all comfy and clean now. Vacuumed the room and dusted, that's nice and clean. Paid some fines (stupid snow ban and car tax). Did taxes. Got MUCH more than I ever thought I would due to various extenuating circumstances. I'm a little under two months closer to owning a home than I was before, w00t. Still almost two years away tho ;) Went to walk the beach again, and on the way back, I noticed a sign.

It said something to the effect of 'Do not harass the seal. This seal is currently being monitored.. no dogs... stay at least 150 feet away... seals haul themselves up for extended periods..' and I say out loud to nobody in particular, "What seal?"

Damned if the bugger didn't poke his head up out of the marsh grass and eyeball me. Yep, harp seal just sitting in the marsh grass, chilling out. We stared at eachother for a while, and I looked to see if there were any more, as some other suspicious lumps were in the area. I asked him if he was here alone (he or she, I can't be sure.), but no response, just looked at me a bit more. After a few moments, he laid his head back down to resume chilling as he was, and I stopped gawking and walked away, a little happier.

I'd heard that seals occasionally came through buzzards bay, but had never seen one before, at least, in the wild, and furthermore, in the marshlands near the beach. Seeing any kind of wild animals around here is so rare, even though it's not really all that urban in New Beige and completely suburban in Fairhaven, parts of which are dense forest.

And to top it off, I saw two skybows. Typically only ONE is a good omen for me; every time I see them, good things happen. Today I saw two in the same sky on either side of the sun. It's kind of like a rainbow, only instead of being a curved band, it's a small chunk of ranbow-colored radiance in the sky. Usually shapeless blobs. I think some people call them sun dogs, but I could be mistaken. So, two of them. Maybe just a late sign of a good day, who knows.

But it was a good day.
