One of my favourite A Softer World strips is the one about the girl who, as she's committing suicide, remembers that The Golden Girls is out on DVD & that could've gone in the CONS column. I had a moment like that the other day, without the suicide, thankfully (and obviously).
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is available* on DVD! \o/ I spent the last 5$ in my bank account on it but I don't care. Buffy! Pike! Buffy! *swoons* I love this movie so much, I swear I've went through at least 2, probably 3 VHS copies of it.
* ... I guess it's been out since 2001? Hmph. IDK but at least the 'new' release's cover looks cool?
I hit level 52 yesterday with Makino on WOW. I'm alternating between doing yellow quests to keep the momentum going & the gray/green quests to work on rep. (I'm exalted with the undead & the orcs, while the trolls, the cows taurens, & even my own people really, really like me but aren't totally in love yet. I'm so close to getting my first
title.)
Alterac Valley has finally opened up & I'm really nervous. I'm not a great PVPer but I do pretty good in Arathi but less well in Warsong. Alterac seems so much more... confusing. :|
I might focus on the lower-level dungeons for the time being. I don't need to hit 55 until, hopefully, my birthday so there's really no rush. Half of my current quests are gray & green dungeon ones so clearing them would free up some more space too. (I've been dropping hints like crazy about WotLK. If my mum doesn't know exactly what I want, exactly how much it costs, and the best place to buy it at, well, she's gone deaf or something. :P)
Also, I changed my LJ name to 'the girl the ESRB warned you about' because Makino busted it out while I was flirting with a goblin the other day & I LOLed. ('Online Interactions Not Rated by the ESRB'.)
One thing I forgot to mention about my long absence from LJ is that, while most of my time was spent on WOW, I also managed to watch the entire run of Are You Being Served?, with the exception of the sequel (it's on my HOLD list).
I always managed to catch the same episodes on PBS so there were a number of episodes that were completely new to me. That was fun! :D And, oddly enough, while I've always been a Lucas fan, I wasn't heartbroken when he left. By that time, I was firmly fangirly over Mr Humphries. (Oh, man. The Humphries/Slocombe episodes were some of my favourites. The Apartment was just brilliant.)
Then I marathoned the first series of Doctor Who in a day. The power of Eccleston compelled me. ;) And, wow, I think I cried just as much rewatching Father's Day & The Parting of the Ways as I did the first time-- probably more because I knew it was coming! (Even knowing about Not!Pete didn't help because that's still her dad dying right in front of her.)
I started in on the next series, only to find out that my library continues to be run by penny-pinchers. :( Disc 3 is missing & all they did was put as 'Circulate As Is' sticker inside. Not that I was even there yet. The first disc is so messed up, I couldn't even finish The Christmas Invasion for the skipping. I'll probably watch what I can on DVD & supplement that with Netflix (online) when I need to.
I've got Primeval out still but I've only managed to watch the first episode. It's... odd. I think I like it. Andrew Lee Potts Connor is adorbs but I guess I've got a thing for quirky & awesome girls named Abby. I'm two for two. ;)
And, when I was working in the office yesterday, I saw that someone had ILLed the first season of True Blood. o_O Awesome! I've ILLed movies before but I didn't know they were able to get entire seasons of stuff. Once my current ILLs go back, I might have to see if I can get Glee or some other stuff... like TB. XD
I'm trying to make time to watch a whole bunch of other things &, well, failing to make time is closer to the truth. Before I started Personal Taste, I was about 5 episodes into You're Beautiful, 1 episode into Creating Destiny, & 3.5 episodes into I Really Really Like You. Not to mention about halfway through Triple, a few episodes into Boys Over Flowers, and a few minutes a little into My Lovely Sam Soon.
...I have the attention span of a gnat, I swear. *headdesk*
