Ellen DeGeneres has joined American Idol, effectively replacing Paula Abdul. There seems to be a sharp divide in opinions about this; I'm definitely Team Ellen, even though I don't even watch AI-- I like her perspective about it, she's coming in as a fan of music instead of as a maker/producer/seller of music. This coming season will be interesting, that's for sure!
Joy Watson, recently seen on Legend of the Seeker, was killed in a car accident last week. She also appeared on Xena & Hercules several times in the 90s.
Edward Norton will be appearing in an episode of Modern Family this season.
Adam Rodriguez has joined Ugly Betty for a multi-episode arc; there are spoilers for CSI: Miami in the article.
FEARNet has an interview with Steven R McQueen about Vampire Diaries; he plays Elena's younger brother, Jeremy.
And
SCI FI Wire's review of TVD makes me want to really give the show a shot.
At least Wendy has a full-time job now--
Natalie Morales has joined the cast of White Collar as a regular.
Big Brother has been renewed for its 12th season.
Gavin Rossdale will be a guest star on Criminal Minds this year; no airdate as of yet & there are spoilers for the episode in the article.
IESB interviewed Joshua Jackson about Fringe. He talks about the show a lot (there are spoilers!) but he also shares some thoughts about Dawson's Creek & Comic-Con.
There's finally a trailer for Persons Unknown -- you can watch it
at YouTube. It looks pretty cool; it should air on NBC sometime next year.
Richard Curtis will be writing an fifth season episode of Doctor Who-- and my interest level in 11 rises just a bit more. :| I mean, Richard Curtis! The Vicar of Dibley, The Girl in the Cafe, Blackadder!
io9 has seen the first three episodes of Stargate Universe & they had nice things to say about it. Yay!
And, once production wraps on SGU,
Amanda Tapping & Martin Wood are saying that work on the next Stargate SG-1 movie may start soon after.
The release date for The Road has been pushed back again -- now it'll be out on November 25th.
A new trailer for The Princess & the Frog is out.
Trick 'r Treat, starring Anna Paquin, Tahmoh Penikett, & Leslie Bibb, will be released on DVD on October 6th.
Finally, to wrap this up,
SCI FI Wire has a huge post full of trailers for upcoming & returning shows. I can't wait to see a better version of the Dollhouse one, I might actually have to watch Eastwick (my Rebecca!dislike notwithstanding), Fringe just looks fantastic, etc etc etc. XD
