Here's the Japanese version; I hope to have the English one done later tonight/early tomorrow morning.
Fuji TV will air Oyaji no Ichiban Nagai Hi (Dad's Longest Day), a drama SP starring Nagasawa Masami & Kunimura Jun, next month. Nagasawa & Kunimura will play a daughter & her father; Takaoka Sousuke will be the daughter's boyfriend & the source of much conflict. Ito Atsushi is Nagasawa's brother & the narrator of the story.
Matsuyama Kenichi will play the lead in the upcoming movie adaptation of Murakami's Norwegian Wood; his love interests will be played by Kikuchi Rinko & ViVi's Mizuhara Kiko. The movie is expected in late 2010.
Kamenashi Kazuya will be appearing as a guest star on MR.BRAIN. He is scheduled for the third episode, which should air on June 6th; the series premieres next week on May 23rd. Kame is totally adorable; in the Tokyograph article, they have quotes he's made about working with 'Kimura-kun'.
Toma-kun is starring in his first movie! Yay! Ahem--
Ikuta Toma has been cast as the lead in Ningen Shikkaku, an adaptation of Dazai Osamu's book. (Yay! XD)
The onesheet poster for Blood: the Last Vampire is pretty awesome -- you can see it
here.
SCI FI Wire has a clip from Big Man Japan.
Tenchijin is being adapted as a BL mobile manga, though it might be released in book form at a later date. Heh, shucks! Considering that it stars some of my favourite actors (Shun, Shirota Yuu, etc), it's a shame they didn't bring the 'boys-love flavor' to the drama. :P
Snow Prince: Kinjirareta Koi no Melody is an upcoming movie from Tokyo Tower's Matsuoka Joji & Okuribito's Koyama Kundo. The main characters are two 11-year-old kids, the boy being a member of Johnny's Jr.; the cast also includes Kagawa Teruyuki & Asano Tadanobu. This movie will likely be released internationally.
Sakamoto Masayuki of V6 & Sato Eriko will be playing teachers in an upcoming drama SP, Shonen Jidai. The SP is based on the novel of the same name by Ikenaga Yo & will air on Fuji TV in June.
Narimiya Hiroki has a very interesting omnibus drama coming in July. Toshi Densetsu Sepia: Fukurou Otoko is about a man who makes up a legend concerning an 'owlman'. As the legend takes life, he becomes the owlman. (I really like that word, 'owlman'.)
New dramas
Fumou Chitai;
It starts filming in July, will air in October, & will last for six months. It's based on the novel by Yamazaki Toyoko & it's about a WW2 officer who returns to Japan and starts a career in business. Karasawa Toshiaki will play the lead, while the cast also includes Wakui Emi, Yanagiba Toshiro, Koyuki, Sasaki Kuranosuke, Amami Yuki, Takenouchi Yutaka, Hashizume Isao, & Harada Yoshio.
Orthros no Inu;
That's just a working title at the moment; this is a TBS drama that will start airing in July. It stars Takizawa Hideaki & Nishikido Ryo as rivals -- Tackey's character is an evil man with a healing touch, Ryo is a good man whose touch is lethal. They meet & an epic battle begins.
Maid Deka;
An adaptation of Hayami Yuji's light novel series, it starts in July on TV Asahi. Fukuda Saki will play Aoi Wakatsuki, 'a moe-type maid' who is actually an undercover police detective.
Ninkyo Helper;
This drama almost didn't make it to air! It's a new one from Kusanagi Tsuyoshi, who returns to television later this month. It'll start in July on Fuji TV & stars Kusanagi as 'a gangster who winds up helping tend to the elderly'.
Tonari no Shibafu;
This is a remake of a series from 1976 about a wife fighting with her mother-in-law. Seto Asaka will play the wife, Ohkura Koji the husband, & Izumi Pinko is the mother-in-law. It starts in July on TBS.
