[(belated) news]

I'm going to be productive today if it kills me, though I doubt it'll come to that. :P Some of these stories date back to the 17th, which is unfortunately when things started to pile up.

I've been wavering over whether the Cupid remake was a good idea or not, but this trailer for it has pushed me thoroughly over to the 'good idea' side. It looks adorable! :D

Damn, I didn't realise it before but Sydney Poitier is probably cursed! Like the article points out, she has had recurring roles on two consecutive cancelled shows (Joan of Arcadia & Veronica Mars) and has now been fired from Knight Rider. That really sucks, because I think she's a good actress. :/

Something not entirely unexpected will be revealed during the upcoming Battlestar Galactica webisodes. Considering I'm linking to AfterElton, I would think the implications are obvious. The link contains spoilers for the storyline, but not the overall webisodes.

This article looks at how accurate the science was in the recent Eleventh Hour episode, 'Containment'.

Josh Schwartz is working on a new project for the X-Men movie franchise. It's X-Men: First Class & it is rumoured that it'll feature Xavier Institute students that we've seen in the other movies.

Monsters & Critics has a write-up of a conference call interview with Fringe's John Noble. And Zap2it has another take on the interview. Each source focuses on a different things, they're very complementary -- and they both have mild spoilers for upcoming episodes. (And, well, Sci Fi Wire has another yet another version.)

Monsters & Critics also has a feature on House. They talked to Katie Jacobs, the executive producer, about what's going on in this season. Major, major spoilers.

Tyra Banks is doing an awesome thing for a former America's Next Top Model contestant. She's paying for Isis to have gender reassignment surgery.

Jay Manuel & J. Alexander talk to the Salt Lake Tribune about themselves, Tyra & America's Next Top Model, and Operation Fabulous.

Sci Fi Wire has production details & stills from the upcoming The Color of Magic miniseries.

And Genevieve Cortese talked to TV Guide about being Ruby & the more 'colourful' aspects of the Supernatural fandom.

Popwrap has a small interview with True Blood's Ryan Kwanten. He talks about what has happened so far, so there are spoilers if you're not caught up on all aired episodes.

The Vancouver Sun has its own interview with Ryan; I love the fact that his parents watch True Blood. Oh, that has to be an interesting experience for them.

io9 has a short interview with Rutina Wesley; her interview isn't as spoilery as Ryan's, but it's more meta about Tara & her role in True Blood.

USA Today has a feature on vampires, saying that True Blood & Twilight are seducing a new generation. Robert Pattinson continues to be awesome, Stephenie Meyer contines to be stupid, and, despite being name-checked in the title, True Blood is barely mentioned. :P

An io9 blogger has written a great rant on Twilight's 'hidden morality plays'. I've seen various elements of her rant talked about in various places around LJ, but it's interesting to see it all put together.

Cam Gigandet is riding the post-Twilight wave: he's signed on as the lead in an independent movie, Five Day Star. Jena Malone & Will Yun Lee have also joined the cast.

NPR has a short segment on Grey's Anatomy & the firing of Brooke Smith.

Kevin McKidd talked to TV Guide about Grey's Anatomy & he shares a secret(?) about Journeyman that makes its cancellation just that much more horrible. D: (Seriously, wouldn't that have been awesome to see progress?)

Jennifer Westfeldt (of Kissing Jessica Stein) is joining Grey's Anatomy for a small guest-starring arc.

Eddie Izzard is working on developing a film version of The Riches.

Tricia Helfer will be doing an episode of Chuck. Ausiello has spoilers for her role in his write-up.

The casting for the Legion of Super-Heroes characters who will be appearing on the January 15th return episode of Smallville has been revealed. Damn, could that sentence get any longer. :X

This article about Smallville also talks at length about that storyline & those actors as well as what happened in 'The Bride'.

There is still hope for Surviving Suburbia! The show is still in production & it's being shopped around to other networks now.

Are people unhappy because they watch television or do unhappy people just watch television more than 'happy people'? This study suggests it's one of the two.
